I never dreamed of being a writer when I was in elementary school. My desire was to be a singer and to be a guest performer on Soul Train (keep in mind, this is 1979-1980). Throughout elementary school, my extracurricular activities were reading (which I was an avid reader) and singing.
I would try to write when I was nine but because what I wrote made no sense I chose not to dwell on it. To be honest, I never gave it too much of a thought, mainly because I was going through some challenges as well as a life change. The more I think about it, I was trying to understand who I was and what my life was all about. Looking back at that period of my life and now to read this question, I am truly humbled and grateful that I would be as big, if not bigger, a blessing to my classmate as well. You melted my heart when you said "when combined with a heart that needs to sing, there is nothing more pure or amazing." I couldn't agree more if I tried - in truth, you summarized my life. By the way, the way you closed your question, you need to release a book! (smile)(less)

What does it mean to be #1, let’s talk football for a moment. For players who don’t make the playoffs, football season is
