Our Actions Create Ripples!
Have you ever thrown a pebble or a rock into a pond or the lake? The ripples it creates depends on the size of the stone that is cast out into the water. Like wise the decisions we make cause a ripple effect not only in our own lives, but the lives of those around us. Below is an excerpt from my memoir, Lords Hill.
As a child, when we take our place on this earth, we have no
way of knowing how experiences of trauma and loss will validate
or invalidate the persons we become. My experiences mapped
out patterns that I would follow for years. The way I was taught
to believe and feel about myself and the world around me was
completely different from the desire that I know today, God had
planted in my heart.
Each event in our life is part of the ripple that creates the unique patterns in our lives. We are all constantly creating patterns that are influencing one another. It serves us well to remember, “we are all in the same pond of life.” While we can influence others, we can change only ourselves.
Consider the blameless, observe the upright; a future awaits those who seek peace. –PSALM 37:37 NIV

Account and Accountability!
Without accountability we not only stay in the “victim” mindset and role, it’s a slippery slope to transitioning into a perpetrator! Often the only difference in the abuses we may have suffered and the ones we inflict on our loved one and friends, is the details. The effect is still the same. Calling your behavior righteous indignation for what you’ve been through, does not give you “a-get-out-of -jail-card” for your mistreating someone else.
Past hurts and habits can holds us back and trip us up from becoming accountable. Bitterness and refusal to forgive, is like drinking poison and expecting other people to die! It won’t happen. But we sure can do a lot of damage to those we are suppose to love and who trust and depend on us for that love. We need to deal with our bitterness once and for all. And enjoy the sweet fruits of freedom that comes with being guilt free from not sliding down that slippery slope of not being accountable for our behavior and treatment of others.
A life lesson question that I’ve tried to live by; “If what was done to me didn’t feel good, then what would make me think it will feel any better if I do it to someone else?” Blessings, Maggie Miller

Whose Hand Holds Every Living Thing, Great & Small
…ask the animals and they will teach you; the birds of the air, and they will tell you……. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of every human being. Job 12:7, 9-10
It was several years into my recovery when I actually realized how much God had held me in the palm of His loving and gracious hand.
“As a child, when we take our place on this earth, we have no

or invalidate the persons we become. My experiences mapped

How Temptations Can Turn Into Benefits
The power of the Christian to rise above pressures and temptations comes from identifying with death, burial, and resurrection of Christ: “That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death.: Philippians 3:10
How true this has been and is in my life. My life story demonstrates the necessity of this as I struggled through layer of loss and trauma through out my childhood and young adult life.

Maggie Miller Looking to do Book Signings & Talks
The real inspiration for my book came from the desire and a need to help others. To reveal the truth about the fallout that comes from childhood trauma, abuse and the rejection and bullying that often comes from your peers. To shine a light on forgiveness of self and others through accountability and a relationship with a Higher Power, for me this is God.
