The subconscious is what does the work, and the conscious is the gatekeeper; saying yes or no to the ideas / solutions the subconscious puts forward. So when I get 'blocked' I take the 'blocker', the conscious, out of the way by giving it another task to do and let the subconscious do its thing while Im not looking. I also learnt from a Texan Neuropsychologist that the best way to encourage the creative process is to slow things down so that the neurone can meander and come in contact with as many other neurons as possible to help the creative process. The best way to facilitate this is in a hot bath which slows things down anyway-so when I'm stuck I usually head to a bath. (less)

Not only the humour but more importantly the attitude to life, the courage and the philosophy, the commitment and generosity of spirit of the people working as clown in all its myriad of marvellous and diverse forms. So I decided to take the reader on a journey into "clown land' to meet some of these extraordinary people. I decided to have a very subjective process and let the collected philosophy affect me and my life. I also accepted 'dares' from the interviewed clowns about what should be the next step which gave a lovely and at times epic experience. The book will be available 1st July 2016. (less)
