Ioannis Kakridis (Greek: Ιωάννης Θ. Κακριδής; also appearing in Swedish & German editions as Johannes Theophanes Kakridis) was a professor of classical literature at the University of Thessaloniki and at the University of Athens, Greece. He was an early advocate of the monotonic spelling in the Greek language, a controversial issue at the time, and cause for his dismissal from the University of Athens.
Kakridis was a leading scholar of Homer, and together with Nikos Kazantzakis, he translated Homer's epics into modern Greek.
