Margaret Karlin worked as a head nurse at the Psychiatric and Psychosomatic Institute at Michael Reese Hospital Medical Center in Chicago from 1950 until 1962. Her professional articles on mental health have been published in numerous nursing trade publications. She has been featured on KOCE's Reconciliation program and on Talk Radio One with Steve Spierer. Virtuous Women is her first novel. It placed in the top 100 of America’s Best in's "Breakthrough Novel" contest 2009, and earned her entrance to the advanced writers program at UCLA. Mother of four children, and six grandchildren, Margaret lives in Los Angeles, CA. Lately I have been writing articles and hearing from nursing friends who found my book a 'blast from the past.' Now it is time to go back to writing and I have choices — turning Vista View into a sequel, organizing the memoir or doing a childhood memoir.

Margaret Karlin is finished with Little Bee: i finished this book long, long ago. it is a wonderful read on race relations and i highly recommend it. since then i have read many books and am currently reading major Pettigrew's last Stand by Helen Simonson. A wonderful pithy love story set in an English village
