Daughters of Persephone – release day!

[image error]Just spreading the news…

Daughters of Persephone, Book Three Reborn and Book Four, Red Demon, have been released today with Resplendence Publishing.

I am super proud of this series – of course it's a contradiction, futuristic science fiction erotic romance.  That's a mouthful!  Here are a couple blurbs.  Oh, by the way, I got word from Siren that my menage, One Four All, will be released on September 23.

The...

Food and Fiction…or food for thought…the stickiness of words.

[image error]Lets talk food first…

There's something to this concept of stickiness.  Some flavors, dishes, foods stick with me.  Wolfgang Puck's Minneapolis restaurant, 20.21, possesses stickiness.  The amazing meal we enjoyed there two weeks ago, along with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, is still in my head and, I swear, on my palate.  From the moment I tasted the four different offerings on his dim sum platter and the big family-style bowl of yellow curry noodles, not a day goes by that I don't...

"A girl beaten within an inch of her life is found in the backroom of Kmart, and no one knows who she is. With the girl barely clinging to life, a paramedic holds her hand, and she refuses to let go. Aquamarine eyes drag him into her pain and suffering, and he can't resist being there for her.

This is how Devlin and Jake meet. Two people who form a bond one fateful day. When the terrible secret of...

Anytime Darlin' – a new review!

[image error]From Happily Ever After Reviews

Wendy's Review

Anytime Darlin' is a great read! Devlin is a girl who had a lot to overcome, and with the help from her hero, Jake, she does.

Devlin was found beaten and raped and near death. She had nothing to live for except the man who kept her sane while she was in a drug induced coma. With Jake's help, she was able to live and tell what her uncle had done to her.

Jake was older, he had to be the one to step back and wait for Devlin to get over what...

In the end…

[image error]I suppose I could leave the Boundary Waters with parting words  like,

what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, or some such nonsense.

The truth is, the Boundary Waters are beautiful and I'd love to give them another go round under entirely different circumstances.

Instead of words of wisdom, Hubby wants me to leave you with a potty story.  It's his fave.

So…Mr. and Mrs. Bob's cabin is lovely.  Really.  And it's perfect for two people.  As it happens, there were six people sharing the one...

Get me outta this stinkin' fresh air!

[image error]Look at that muscle on my arm.  Look at it.  I ain't no weinie!

Day four…rescue!

Up and moving at 5 a.m.  Head throbbing but I can manage.  I have exactly the right number of headache pills to last me through six to eight hours of paddling.  After that, it's anybody's guess.

Our noise wakes the Bobs.  As if we care.  We pack up – talking quietly about how the Bobs want the tent packed a certain way, but we no longer give a shit.  We can tell that the Bobs are sort of thinking of firing up the...

Day Three: The Stupids or Stupid is as Stupid Does.

[image error]I'm an idiot.

My excuse?  I wasn't thinking clearly.

The lesson?  Never be polite when death is on the line.

"You gotta get angry!  You gotta get mean!" (Dodgeball, Patches O'Houlihan – Rip Torn)

Day three.  Sleep comes in fits and starts.  I toss and turn, my head throbbing, knowing that at any minute, this migraine could become a whopper.

Dawn.  No wind.  No food.  Hubby manages to snag two portions of instant oatmeal for himself before Mrs. Bob manages to pack everything away and padlock the...

Day Two – Having Fun Despite Everything!

[image error]A lovely shot from our second campsite.

With proper planning, this would have been a great trip!

At 6 a.m. the wind dies.  After a quick breakfast of nothing, because for me, eating strawberry instant oatmeal is worse than eating nothing, we pack up (I grab the food pack) and head out, paddling through an archipelago of islands to look for a site to set up base camp.

Of course the site Mr. and Mrs. Bob prefer is unavailable so, grumbling, they settle for a secondary site.  Hubby and I think the ...
