Saturday Snark
It occurred to me the other day that I've never used One More Soldier for Saturday Snark. Well, it's not exactly a funny story, but I did pull this little snippet out. This is Bran and Will having a little rendezvous at their apartment complex's swimming pool.
It was completely dark by then, and the weak lights around the perimeter did little to illuminate the pool itself. I was in the deep end, hanging onto the edge so I didn't have to tread water. I could see just enough in the low light to know Bran was swimming very slowly in my direction.
"Tell me you're not having second thoughts," he said.
"No," I told him. "Are you?"
He laughed, a low throaty laugh thick with arousal, and already my body was reacting to him. "Definitely not," Bran said, still slowly moving toward me. He was only a few feet away now.
"We can go upstairs," I said.
He shook his head. "No."
"Surely you don't want to go to your room?"
He laughed. "God, no!" By now, he was in front of me. Bran reached over my shoulder, grabbing the wall behind me to steady himself. "I want to stay here," he said suggestively.
"Here?" I asked uncertainly. My pulse started to race just thinking about it.
"Yes." He pushed closer. His erection ground against my own and I moaned. He kissed my jaw, and then his tongue touched my ear. "I told you I used to think about you," he whispered, and his free hand slid between us to rub against my erect cock. "This is something I've wanted to do for a long time."
"What if somebody comes?" I asked nervously.
His laugh in my ear was soft and throaty. "That's the idea."
"I meant to the pool!"

2011 Rainbow Awards
Song of Oestend was awarded Elisa Rolle's Rainbow Award for Best Gay Fantasy and for Best Character Development. It also received an Honourable Mention for Best Gay Novel. I'm really thrilled to have it receive such an honor. Thanks very much to Elisa, and to all of the judges who volunteer their time to make the Rainbow Awards happen. I also want to offer my congratulations to all of the other winners. Heidi's Nowhere Ranch won Best Erotic Romance, and LA Witt had several wins as well. Sloan Parker cleaned house with her novel, Breathe. Of course there were many, many others. You can see a full list of the winners here. Congratulations to everybody who received an award!

Random Randomness
I wanted to let everybody know about a few events I have coming up. I'd love to have you all join me for as many of them as you can!
First of all, a couple of chats on Beth Wylde's group. It's here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bethwylde/
The first one is Friday, December 9th. That will be a big group of authors from Amber Quill Press. The next one is Sunday, December 11th. Technically, that day was booked by ZA Maxfield, but she's invited a few of us to join her. I'm not sure who all will be there, but Heidi and I will be, at the very least, and there will be prizes. The last one is at the same group on Wednesday, December 28th. It will be all day. Authors who are planning to be there (in addition to myself and Heidi) are: Ethan Stone, ZA Maxfield, Ellis Carrington, Amy Lane, SA Meade, Kate McMurray, Clare London, ML Rhodes, and Andrew Grey. Again, there will be prizes.
We really hope to CHAT with readers at these events, not just bombard you with excerpts (although I'm sure we'll have those as well), so please stop in at any point during the day and say hello.
December 29-January 6th, Chris over at Stumbling Over Chaos will be giving away a copy of my upcoming release Blind Space.
From January 2nd through January 16th, I'll be doing a blog hop with 14 other authors. The current schedule (subject to change) is:
Jan 2: TA Chase
Jan 3: Julia Knight
Jan 4: LA Witt
Jan 5th: Freddy MacKay
Jan 6th: Marie Sexton
Jan 7th: JP Bowie
Jan 8th: Megan Slayer
Jan 9th: Amber Kell
Jan 10th: JP Barnaby
Jan 11th: Sue Holston
Jan 12th: Simone Anderson
Jan 13th: Kit Sandes
Jan 14th: EM Woods
Jan 15th: Devon Rhodes
January 16th: Sara York
Again, we'll have tons of prizes. BIG prizes. I'll post more info here when we get closer to the date, but please keep us on your radar, because we'll be giving away some great things. On Wednesday, January 4th, this same group of authors will be hosting a chat at the Love Romances Cafe, noon to 5:00 EST. It's here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LoveRomancesCafe/
And… you guessed it: PRIZES!
On January 11th, I'll also be a guest on Lisabet Sarai's blog.
The week of January 23-27 is the 1 year birthday bash for Coffee and Porn in the Morning. We have a great event lined up for that. Not just prizes, but a bunch of great FREE fiction from a rather impressive group of authors. You really don't want to miss it.
Then, in February, Heidi, Ethan and I all have releases, and Heidi's putting together another blog tour. But that's still just in the conceptual stage, so I'll stop there.
For releases, Blind Space will be released by Silver Publishing on January 7th. You can pre-order it now by going here. Cinder, my fun little CinderFella tale, is tentatively scheduled for release by Silver on February 4th.
And now, because this post is depressingly short of naked men, I give you this:
And because I double-clicked and uploaded two photos, I suppose I might as well share them both.

Saturday Snark!
This week's snark comes my upcoming release, Blind Space. My naughty space pirates are surprisingly short on snark. This bit will have to do.
"We've been searching your ship."
"There's not much on board."
Valero laughed. "You're right about that. But I do have access to your room. Is there anything you'd like me to bring you?"
"I'd sure love to get out of these pants." The words were out of my mouth before I realized how they'd sound, and I immediately wished I could take them back.
He laughed. One of his hands slid down my stomach, but stopped short at my waistband. "I think you know how much I'd like to help you in that endeavor."
Blind Space will be released by Silver Publishing on January 7th, but you can pre-order it now!

Pre-Order Blind Space
You can now pre-order Blind Space here. It will be released on January 7th.
Captain Tristan Kelley enjoys the luxuries of Regency service, as well as the pleasure of his Prince's bed. It's an easy life, if not a happy one. When the Prince decides to take a trip through the perilous Blind Space, Tristan must go with him, but somebody in the Prince's guard is a traitor.
Blind and held prisoner, Tristan finds himself at the mercy of Valero, a pirate who bears no love for the Regency. Valero is determined to seduce Tristan, and Tristan fears his resolve won't last. His duty is clear, but so is his desire. As the days tick by with no word or ransom from the Regency, Tristan begins to question what loyalty means to his Prince, the Regency he's sworn to, and to the man who holds him captive.
Tristan begins to realize that being a prisoner may actually set him free.
Pre-order Blind Space here.

Saturday Snark!
WIP Snark!!
Today's snark come from my current work in progress, which is a spin-off (or maybe a sequel?) of Song of Oestend.
At this point in the book, the BarChi has about twenty extra people living on it, and Deacon is at his wits' end. This is him laying down the law for his ranch hands, much to the amusement of Aren and Frances.
"And as for you men, the next time you take your pecker out, it better be so you can piss or shake hands with it yourself. 'Cause the next one I see flapping loose I'll cut off myself and feed to the pigs!"
Dante heard a snort next to him, and turned to see Aren, who was ducking his head, obviously trying not laugh.
"Holy Saints, Aren," Frances said with mock gravity. "That sounds like bad news for your pecker."

Saturday Snark!
Today's snark comes from Song of Oestend. Song of Oestend is now available on ARe, and on Kindle. This is right at the beginning when Deacon and Aren first meet.
"Well?" Deacon asked, still waiting for an answer. "What's in the bags?"
Aren forced himself to stop fidgeting, although he couldn't quite meet Deacon's eyes. "My clothes. Books. Art supplies."
"Art supplies?" Deacon asked, as if the words held no meaning for him.
"Yes," Aren said, and for some reason, Deacon's absurd question gave him the strength he needed to stand up straight and face the rough cowboy in front of him. "Canvas and paint."
Deacon's eyebrows went up, and although he didn't laugh, it was clear he wanted to. "Good thing. Barn's needed a new coat of paint for a while now."
