And then there were three again!

Once upon a time, I went to college and had two wonderful roommates. Also one horrible roommate, and a couple who were nice but who I didnt really become friends with. But the two wonderful roommates and I became very good friends, and we had a lot of fun together.

And then, as often happened back in the days where there was no internet, and where peoples phone numbers changed every time they moved, the three of us lost touch.

Adding to the sum of light

I grew up thinking our world was on its way to being like the original Star Trek series, with everyone trying to do the right thing and make the galaxy a better place. That show wasn’t perfect, of course. I remember being maybe 8 and firmly saying “boldly go where no one has gone before,” since even at that age I recognized some of the flaws in the show. You could certainly argue, however, that for a television series that launched in 1966, it was ahead of its time. Gene Roddenberry, the produce...

Zombie Apocalypse: Day 32

I didnt realize the zombie apocalypse would involve me spending day after day in my own house

My days now consist of entertaining the dogs, cleaning and organizing the house, and washing my hands. Okay, I dont actually wash my hands that much because I spend 90% of my waking hours in my office where I am, as far as Im aware, safe from both viruses and mosquitoes. (I know youre thinking: Its April, there arent any mosquitoes in Colorado yet. But just like every other year of my life, they are...

Past and Future Jamies

I’m not sure exactly when this started, but sometime in the past six months or so I started thinking about Past and Future Jamie. Sometimes I’ll think: “I could do that thing, but I don’t wanna right now.” Then she puts off the thing. Eventually she becomes Future Jamie, who thinks: “Thanks a lot, Past Jamie, you lazy jerk.”

Obviously there are times when I really don’t want to do the thing, and I don’t do it—and that’s okay. But sometimes it just takes a little more effort, then I get it...

Time to play!

Here’s more evidence that 2019 did not go as planned.

That’s from my very cluttered personal Goodreads profile, which I keep separate from my author Goodreads profile so you don’t have to wade through the clutter of my 51 custom bookshelves. (Yes, there really are 51…I just counted.) But because I can’t help being an optimist, I’ve just signed up for another lofty goal!

Here’s to never giving up!

2020: The Year of the Schedule!

I like to do an annual end-of-the-year review in which I look back at what I intended to accomplish writing-wise, and compare it to what I actually accomplished. Sometimes my plans change throughout the year because unforeseen opportunities (or complications) arise. Sometimes I’m overly optimistic about how much time I’ll have. And sometimes I just change my mind!

I didn’t write down my goals for 2019, although I did find a document from last April in which I cheerily declared I’d write...

Midsummer at Midwinter!

Entangled by Midsummer has been released! It’s currently live on Amazon and Kobo, and will be up on the rest of the sales channels within another day or two, it has a page on Goodreads, and it should show up on my BookBub profile soon. It actually went live on December 21st, so while Amazon is showing it as published on the 20th, I didn’t submit the files until the 21st.

Announcing the Realm of Faerie bundle!

Enter the Realm of Faerie, a world of beauty, danger, and enchantment. But remember the legends if you want to make it back home again…

The tales in this bundle are set in worlds like Tír na nÓg, Annwn, the Otherworld, Elfame, as well as in our own—for there are places where the boundaries between worlds grow thin, and one can pass over as easily as stepping across the threshold of a door. There are queens, mermaids, and monsters. Bargains are made, and secrets kept. Duels are fought, curses...

My laptop died last week…which may be partly my fault.
