About 10 years ago I was praying about my work and suddenly the idea for 2 novels were in my head. I said, "If that's you God, then you'll have to equip me to write fiction and push me to do it." Over the years the 'push' got stronger until it became a matter of "will you obey, or not?"
The other thing about fiction is that sometimes it is the best way to convey a message. As a strong believer in the power of story to transform lives, fiction makes sense. The trick then is not to write simply to convey a message. If you do it comes across as 'preachy'.(less)

A good debut. Easy to read with some good issues in it. I loved the fact that part of the book was set in Brazil as I do get tired of books set in the US.
Keep writing Gina.

Well-written contemporary fiction. Real life issues, messy people but plenty to make this worth reading. I look forward to reading more from this author.
