I'm the author most recently of THE HUNDRED-YEAR FLOOD (Little A/Amazon, Aug 2015) and I'M NOT SAYING, I'M JUST SAYING (Civil Coping Mechanisms), as well as the essay collection, DIFFERENT RACISMS. My writing appears in NPR Code Switch, The New York Times Motherlode, Salon, Glimmer Train, Guernica/PEN, American Short Fiction, and often in The Good Men Project, where I serve as Fiction Editor. I'm currently a PhD candidate in Creative Writing & Literature at the University of Houston.

America teaches people to protect their own lives, Korea teaches people to protect bears’ teeth. This is how culture teaches individualism versus interconnectedness on every level.
