**PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE email me instead of using Goodreads messaging—I'm not on here often enough to give you a prompt reply! Thanks for understanding.**

I'm the author of three fantasy novels for adults—Immaculate Heart, Mary Modern, and Petty Magic—and my YA novel, Bones & All, won an Alex Award from YALSA and the American Library Association in 2016 (thank you, librarians!!) My book of practical philosophy, Life Without Envy: Ego Management for Creative People, was published by St. Martin's on September 27, 2016.

I love reading and writing about the supernatural: my second children's novel (in progress) is a ghost story, as is my first published short story, "The Coroner's Bride," now available from iTunes, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Amazon

There will be more where this came from—the Bright Idea Kit, which is a more in-depth course on generating “original” ideas—and you can check out the workbook preview (inside my new resource library) by signing up fo Read more of this blog post »

How to Take Smart Notes by Sönke Ahrens
"This book is GOLD.

'How to Write Smart Notes' tragically undersells itself by implying it's wholly focused on note-taking. It's not.

There's a bunch of relevant psychological concepts here too—including:

- Mere-exposure Effect
- Miller's Law
- Survivo" Read more of this review »

The Assertiveness Workbook by Randy J. Paterson
"Read this if you feel secretly mad a lot and want to not feel that way anymore. Giving compliments is assertive as hell so shout out to Mr. Randy Paterson for writing this and for including a chapter on gender roles. "
More of Camille's books…
“Death is somewhat easier to meet when you believe, as we do, that to end is to begin. You will learn to walk and speak again, lose your teeth (but hopefully only once), bite into apples, count stars lying on your back in the dewy grass--and you will know, again, what it is to lust and to love. It will be a different face you turn toward the sun, and that someone dear will call you by another name, but there are many other things you go on remembering even when you can no longer recall their meaning.”
Camille DeAngelis, Petty Magic: Being the Memoirs and Confessions of Miss Evelyn Harbinger, Temptress and Troublemaker

“We do not thieve the peckers of men who've spurned us and squirrel them away in glass jars.”
