Hi Amelia,

Thank you so much for writing. Many people have asked me the exact same question and I didn't realized, when I was writing NOMANSLAND, that my ending would be seen as a cliffhanger so I didn't really plan on a sequel. Judging by what people have said, I obviously should have! I did try writing a kind of sequel and even a prequel, but none of it worked. Perhaps one day, and with encouraging interest like yours, I will try again!

I am working on another book at present and once I have finished, I will be in touch with my followers and reviewers on Goodreads to let them know about it.

Thank you so much for writing to me,

Lesley.(less)

Recently a reviewer on this site in response to my novel, Nomansland, and I think in some exasperation, put a question directly to me: "Lesley Hauge, what is your point?"

I felt I had to try to answer her question.

On the whole novelists do not have "

The Witches by Stacy Schiff
"This book, a historical account of the Salem witch trials by an author whose prior work has been highly acclaimed, turned out to be a long-winded and tedious disappointment. I regret the many hours I spent slogging through it.

“Mirror, mirror, on the wall. Who is the fairest of them all?

I whisper it first then I say it louder: 'It's called a mirror.' I shout over their excited yelping.

I have turned away from its pretty silver surface as quickly as I can. I was my coarse hair, my dark worried eyes, and my wide, unlovely mouth.

Who is the fairest of them all?

Not me.”
