JM Donellan is an author, poet, musician, voice actor, radio DJ and teacher. He was almost devoured by a tiger in the jungles of Malaysia, nearly died of a lung collapse in the Nepalese Himalayas, fended off a pack of rabid dogs with a guitar in the mountains of India and was sexually harassed by a half-naked man whilst standing next to Oscar Wilde's grave in Paris.

He has an unnatural fondness for scrabble and an irrational dislike of frangipanis.

The big milestones come around once in a while and those are nice but it's the little victories that will stop you from giving up and becoming an investment banker and amateur taxidermist or something horrid like that.

Also get a good tax accountant, I know that's not very 'sexy' advice, but trust me, you'll thank me later.(less)

19 ½ Spells Disguised as Poems is out now!

After years of performing at schools and helping kids wrote poems, I figured it was about time I brought out a book of poems (spells) for kids. It is very important to note that this is DEFINITELY, positively not a book of spells, because magic isn’t real, obviously. This is a book of poems (spells) about very important things like zombies and rapping grandmas and cephalopods.

It’s out now via Odys

It's been a while since I've read anything like this. More of a study of mood and concept than any kind of plot-driven narrative, featuring entirely unlikeable characters. I think what I like so much about this book is that it's hard to pinpoint WHY ...more

Steve Thanks for the invite, Joshua ;) I've just been reading your 'about the author' details; let's not go anywhere together, huh *laughing*...

Have you considered carrying a voodoo X bag? ;)
