Epic Journal – 12th April 2014
Today I went to a conference at Oxford University. I got to meet a load of professors and here a number of presentations.
On what subject I hear you ask? Why tornadoes of course. There was someone there who chased El Reno and that just made everything seem a bit more real. In a week, I’ll be in Oklahoma, in little over a fortnight I’ll be chasing.
People seemed friendly but really wasn’t the time to chat. I also needed to get back to get ready for going caching tomorrow. But I suspect when I ca...

I fly a week today. After waiting for so many months, it feels like it’s suddenly here.
As a result I’m tetchy. I’m anxious to get there, worried about what could go wrong in the meantime, and stressed over how much I still have to do.
It reminds me a lot of when I used to travel to the US for A-F. I’d work long into the nights trying to prep and plan everything. But not even the biggest ToyFair has taken as much planning as this trip. From hotels to cars to geocaches, this has been monumental...
Day 5 – Oklahoma Bound
The trouble with such a big system blowing through at the beginning of the week is that it takes a while for things to cook back up. That’s been OK as we’ve been heading back to Oklahoma these past few days. We’ve already driven over 3000 miles this week and not really had time to stop… which is cool because we’re a hardcore group and complain when we don’t get to spend the night in the van in torrential rain and some of the worst lightning our guides have ever seen . Lol
Mood in the van is st...

I’ve been running a lot in recent months. It originally started as something to progress onto after building the leg up to walk again. But for a good number of months the pure motivation has been to be fit enough to chase.
I’m really proud of myself. When I started I could hardly run the distance between two lampposts but now I comfortably do just under 3 miles. And after losing fitness due to leg damage I have been running every day since (apart from caching or school of the sword days)
I’m st...

Epic Journal – 9th April 2014
I now have a case. However with this and all the deliveries I’ve had lately I now have no room to move and it’s driving me nuts.
Housemates are in the house all the time and I’m finding that quite claustrophobic. There’s stuff I need to do, phone calls I need to make, video I need to shoot, and I can’t do it because they are in the house. With just over a week to go I’m not sure that I’ll get everything done or not somehow give the game away.
I just feel I’m sat here waiting when what I really...
