Chapter Sixty-Five
“Well, what happens now?” Elliot asked of no one in particular. “You fail,” Hronulous spat, eyes narrowed as he gave Elliot a hateful glare. “Neither of you have any idea how to rule the people of this planet!”Karl smacked Hronulous on the back of the head. “Shut the fuck up. The more you talk, the more I think of dropping you in a volcano back on Earth.”“What—“ “Be. Quiet,” Karl said to Hronulous. Then he gestured to Drona. “Can you do something...

Installment and Babble
Well, that was about 2600 miles in a few days, and ST and I had been to Houston and back the day before we left with Mom. I am tired. And behind with a lot of stuff. And Sammie needed me to watch the twins today, so yes, kids everywhere. Tomorrow I will write a double installment-- the last chapter, then the epilogue.
I think Mom really enjoyed the trip. She'd wanted to see Albuquerque and Vegas for a long time, and we'd planned to go for the past two years but something came u...

Chapter Sixty-Four
“It’s time to put this battle to an end.” Karl had no sooner uttered those words than he spotted the form coming toward him. Bigger than Karl, bigger than any of the transformed aliens of his own kind, he knew instinctively that this would be his challenger, the cousin who had usurped his throne. And Karl didn’t particularly want the throne, but he wouldn’t leave it to some jerk like his cousin. “Karl, he’s huge,” Elliot whispered. “The bigger th...

Chapter Sixty-Three
One of the orange dots zoomed alarmingly close to Elliot. He didn’t know what it’d have done had it hit him, and he was in no rush to find out. There were numerous orange dots coming toward him and Karl—the number 32 kept flashing on the screen. “El?” Karl said. “Let’s blast them.”“Okay.” Well, he really didn’t know how else to reply to that. He looked at all the levers and buttons. “Er—““Mass carnage, maybe?” Elliot found that button. It was fl...

Chapter Sixty-Two
Karl looked at Ian. “You know how to work this thing?” He gestured at the translucent screen. “Of course,” Ian huffed, crossing over to him. “What do you want to know, exactly?”Karl glanced at Elliot, who nodded once at him. Then he turned his attention back to Ian. “How to make the AI’s let us fight. I am not staying locked in a goddamned metal ball until the world is safe and all’s well. What kind of leader would be such a coward?”“A wise one,”...

Chapter Sixty-One
Argron and Karl were going to come to blows, and not the fun kind, either. Drona wasn’t helping, siding with Argron over the issue of Karl and Elliot staying far away from the upcoming battle. Elliot was still hoping—albeit in vain, he suspected—that the approaching army wasn’t going to fight. Maybe, just maybe, they were on some other mission. Like to find the pod, or search out new sources for energy. Or they might just be patrolling. Elliot did...

Chapter Sixty
Karl sat down, hard. Hard enough that it jarred him and hurt his ass, but regardless, he was still dazed. “Four girls?” he rasped, his head going spinny on him. “Four?”“Girls,” Ian said with entirely too much enthusiasm. “So, I could date one—““I will kick your ass,” Elliot growled. “Besides, don’t you have something going with Edion?”Ian blanched and recoiled, slapping a hand to his chest. “What? No! No, why would you even—“ He huffed and shook his h...
