Felipe Montes nació en Monterrey, México, en 1961. Construye, desde los trece años, un extenso poema narrativo titulado Monterrey, una saga río de un realismo mágico cuyo universo literario condensa los mitos y la vida cotidiana que coexisten en su ciudad natal y su región.
Sus libros publicados hasta el momento son Casa natal, Catedrales, El Vigilante, El Enrabiado, Sólido azul, El Evangelio del Niño Fidencio, Dolores, La Casa Natal y El Pozo De Fuego, Rosalma, Yerbabuena, Barrio de Catedral, De brasas y cenizas y La Hacienda de la Soledad.
