Secret Court!

So I woke up this morning to several of my writer friends sending me this link to the School Library Journal with its preview of Little, Brown's fall titles, including my book, The Mockingbirds! Check it out here. I love the description "secret court."

One of those things she paid attention to was the daily class schedule of my main character! I know — pretty specific, right. But pretty important. My novel, after all, is set in boarding school and a number of scenes take place in the classroom. So it's kind of...

My Outline is Becoming Book 2!

At long last! My editor approved my outline for the second book in "The Mockingbirds" so now I'm working in earnest on continuing the storyline of student justice in another novel. My editor –not surprisingly since she is brilliant –had some terrific suggestions on how to improve the storyline as well as tweaks to the roles different characters will play in the second book. I'm very excited to dig into the writing of this Mock2 now, especially as I have an August deadline! Eeek! Come cheer...

The Mockingbirds meets GlamourPuss

I wanted to see how The Mockingbirds would look on bookshelves when it releases November 2, so I posed my ARC next to some interesting books, including "Some Girls Are" by Courtney Summers, "Beautiful Creatures" by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, and that old standby, "GlamourPuss." What do you think?
