Escalation Tour Stop Number Two: JL Campbell

Well, I have a full stomach. Thanks to Captain Alex and the Mrs. for hosting us and opening his living room to us.
Today we're off to JL Campbell's Blog for a bit of wisdom wrapped in humor. Something to help us get through the day and passing it on to the next generation.
So here we go using Dr. Evil's Time Machine. Grab a hold of Minnie Me's hand and don't let go. This is usually the pat of the blog tour we lose the most people.
And tune in tomorrow as we visit Mary Pax's Sp...

IWSG, One Million Dollars, I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

IWSG: The brainchild of Alex Cavanaugh. ThePurpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Here’s My Advice: When you are about to release the finished version of your blood sweat and tears, you need to make goals. And one of those goals is how much do you want to be paid for all your hard work and sacr...

Only One More Week!!!

Awesome Badges by Carrie ButlerOn March 10, 2014 I’m kicking off the Escalation Blog Tour at Captain Ninja Alex’s Blog. I thought the best way to launch this tour is have one big party for the citizens of Blogdom. And you’re all invited. This will be a potluck event with a theme. Everyone brings a dish, but it has to have a pun to the name.  I prefer science, sci-fi, book, movie, or music themed food if possible. But it will be open to any and all food puns. You leave the food you’re bri...

Celebrate The Small Things and the Weekend Follies

Celebrate The Small Things: As crazy as this may sound to the many people experiencing harsh winter storms across the world, I'm celebrating much needed rain. We are in a severe draught in southern California, and this rain is most welcomed.  Weekend Follies: What's in a name? I have seen this topic countless times over the years in Blogdom. I've posted on the matter numerous times. So here is a lighter side of getting a name wrong. Enjoy!

L. Diane Wolfe, The Science of Book Formatting, And The 10k Experiment

The Science of Book Formatting Since Stephen is the Science Guy, I thought I would share some of the details of book formatting. Consider it the “science” of the craft.  First, you need to understand all of the different formats. Print is simple - most printers require a PSF file or a Word file. But when you get to eBooks, it can overwhelm. Wikipedia lists dozens of formats - CLICK HERE. The basic formats though are Mobi, EPub, PDF, and RTF. If you know how to format for those four - or...

Celebrate The Small Things and the Weekend Follies Big Bang Style!

Celebrate The Small Things: This week I'm celebrating with a really good bottle of wine. For starting a new job, having my sister and husband visit from the great state of Michigan (go Spartans!), and finishing up the final edits to what is turning out to be my best book ever, if I may say so myself.  Weekend Follies: Continuing with the theme of best wormholes in books or movies (see Wednesday's post and tell us yours), this scene from The Big Bang Theory is actually very close to...
