My hurts turn livid upon me as I lean on a cane and observe.
Having tendonitis is my own personal hell. In the past week, I've written less than a paragraph. I wrote way more than that (and more often) on my honeymoon! For those of you who don't know, pen and paper is my preferred method of writing, and with the tendonitis, I can hardly hold a pen. I can type somewhat, but with two fingers taped together I make an insane amount of mistakes. At this point in the blog entry, 5 minutes have already passed. 5 minutes!!! For 5-6 sentences!!! I've been trying to do Danny Marble revisions on the computer but it's taking for-friggin-ever. :(
I've also noticed that I'm just not a pleasant person to be around when I'm not writing. I'm depressed and irritable and very short-tempered. Some of that is because I have deadlines to make and every day I don't write, I'm basically losing 10-20 pages and much more on weekends. But during all of this, I have to go to work where I do repetitive motions and HAVE to do some writing, which pisses me off because I think "if I HAVE to write, I should be writing MY stuff." I know it's illogical because I'm getting paid at work, but I can't help the way it makes me feel. Also, I'm SOOOO tired of people suggesting I get dictation software. Maybe some people can perfectly tell a story aloud without any revisions or roadblocks, but that's not the way I work, and I don't know any other writers who work that way. Besides, do you really think dictation software is going to recognize all of my made-up words in the Tales of Dominhydor. You really think that's not going to frustrate me even more?! UGH!!!! I know people are just trying to be helpful and the first few times I've heard it, I just smiled and shrugged off the fact that they couldn't possibly understand my routine and style, but after hearing it about 10 times a day for the past two weeks, I've got some serious rage about it. Basically there isn't much I can do to fix the problem except rest my hand and deal with it, but it's just really hard.
It's been a non-stop Jess Torture Fest, but Dave has been super supportive, and seeing friends this past weekend took my mind off it for a while. Also, Fools call it Fate opening night is this Friday and I am really excited about it. I just wish that hearing my words didn't remind me that I haven't written anything in what seems like forever. In truth, it's only been about a week, but for someone who writes as much as I do, it might as well be a year. :(

It shakes mad-sweet pangs through my belly and breast.
LE SIIIIIIIGH.... Could I be any busier? So the great YVEN REWRITE is still going on. I'm pretty close to the end, but I keep finding scenes that need to be completely torn apart and rewritten and I'm running out of time!!! After I'm done, I still need to read it again and make sure it makes sense. After that, I have to turn right to PALAPLIA, so PINS is still going to have to wait. Sucks because that's what I want to work on most. After PALAPLIA (or most likely, during) I'll be diving into DANNY MARBLE edits, but I don't suspect those will be too strenuous. However, compared with how YVEN has been, I don't think anything could be that strenuous. So I have all of that. PLUS, in October through December, I'll be attending rehearsals and rewrite sessions for "FOOLS CALL IT FATE", the play I wrote for the Mobtown Players. That's right, it was chosen for one of the three staged readings they're doing this year. If it goes well, it could actually become a full stage production, which would be so super rad, I can't even describe how happy it would make me.
Baltimore Book Fest was such a blast. I had so much fun talking with authors and readers and basically anyone who approached my booth. And I actually sold way more than I thought I would. Hopefully next year I can get a bigger space, but it was still awesome with four feet of room. :)
In non-writing news, my 1 year wedding anniversary is in less than a week, and I'm so jazzed. We're not doing anything special except eating deliciously stale cake, but it's just so awesome to celebrate 1 year of marriage to the sweetest, raddest dude in the whole world. Every day, I fall even more in love with him, and every day he finds a new way to make me smile.
I'm a very lucky (albeit busy) girl. :)

The little light fades the immense and diaphanous shadows
As much as it pains me, I have to stop working on PINS. At least for now. I've got my hands full with The Tales of Dominhydor, and I just can't devote the time to it that it deserves. I WILL come back to it though, and when I do I'm going to finish the outline and bust out the rest of the book. I'm already about a 100 pages in and I'm not even halfway through. It's just a really entertaining story too! Arg! It makes me kinda mad to drop it, but I have to focus my attention on YVEN. It...

Despite the failure of my Doctor Azaz Facebook page to promote "The Sky: The World" coming out in September, I've decided create a "Tales of Dominhydor" Facebook page. I have a little more confidence about this promotion attempt though because I have a lot more super fun info to post.
For those of you who don't know, "The Tales of Dominhydor" is my forthcoming epic...

I witness the corpse with its dabbled hair, I note where the pistol has fallen
So the fourth & final book in The Tales of Dominhydor series is finally finished!!! Well, I still have to edit and extend, but I'm just jazzed that I actually finished writing the sucker. It's been....ohhh....almost 5 years since I started "Telinhe". I haven't been working on it that whole time, but it's definitely been hanging out there for a while, waiting. When I started it, I was in a pretty bad place in life, and when I came back to it this year, I was absolutely shocked at how terrible...

O suns - O grass of graves - O perpetual transfers and promotions
Updates abound!!!
So I'm finishing up "Fools call it Fate: a story of sex, coincidence, and an electronic cigarette". It's a play I'm writing for a sort of playwright competition for Mobtown Players. If it's chosen, i'll get to workshop and change it based on how the actors portray the characters....or something theatrey. :) It's really been a cool experience because I've never really written a play before. As it is, I still need to put it in actual play format, but it's so wacky. Lots of...

Consciousness found its way through the darkness of oblivion like the morning sun breaking through a nightmare. He could hear before he could see, and what he heard terrified him but not as much as it should have. The sound of the wind was ordinary, but recognizing the seat he was strapped into, he knew the...

They show as the dial or move as the hands of me, I am the clock myself
Just taking a few brief minutes for an update before I have to get back to work. So, "Verses of Villainy" is finished...being written...kind of. I finished the intital writing, but I still have edits and extensions to do. However, I'm putting that on the back burner and doing some very much needed work on "Telinhe". I had no idea how horribly it was written, so I'm basically rewriting the whole thing. Plus, I actually still have to write the ending, BUT I just came up with a bunch of new...

Winter had fallen with a certain lethargy befitting December's triumph over autumn. Though it was the dream that had roused her, she often found herself standing at the window in the middle of the night looking out in longing awe. With her hands pressed against the cold glass and her hot breath flowering across...
