another great success story!

Kind Lifer Amanda Jacob wrote a blog on her profile page here on The Kind Life about the changes that she has experienced since starting her plant based journey.  Her results are so exciting. Take a look:

"It has been one month since I decided to get rid of meat egg sugar soy and processed foods in addition to not eating gluten and dairy. I thought it would be harder than it has turned out to be. Just listing what I don't eat makes you think that it is quite extreme but it doesn't feel that ...

help me inspire chevron

The Rainforest Action Network is launching a new campaign called Change Chevron.   Chevron has a brand new CEO John Watson and RAN is urging him to stop the destruction in Ecuador and turn the company around.

Chevron is responsible for a huge amount of destruction in the Ecuador Amazon rainforest. The company dumped 18.5 billion gallons of highly toxic waste sludge into the streams and rivers on which local people depend on for drinking bathing and fishing.

my winter wardrobe

I'm doing great in the New York weather.  Here's kind of a sampling of what I've been wearing lately:

I wear leggings under my jeans and they keep me pretty darn warm. My favorite leggings are organic cotton ones from Birch Clothing that I just got in black. Another favorite pair are by EcoSkin. And another fun pair are by Wildfox.  They are white and have the word LOVE going down the side of the leg.  So funky and groovy.  However they are not organic or eco... Just for fun. They are old on...

I wasn't feeling too great from all of the sugar that I had been eating... So I made a new take on my healing soup.  I didn't have that much in the fridge but it turned out so good! I had some Kaboucha squash which I think is the greatest vegetable on the planet! Here is how I made it:

MOCHI INGREDIENTS
1-2 teaspoons sesame or olive oil
1 package of unflavored mochi cut into 1" by 2" rectangles

alex's visit to nyc!

I'm sooo happy because one of my closest friends Alex Keeling came to stay with me in New York the other day.  She arrived while I was at a meeting but when I was done we went to Cafe Gitane.  My part-time roommate a beautiful model named Lonneke who is also very much into organic food and a healthier life and planet told me to go there.  We had the Toast with Avocado on it with some oil and chili flakes.  It was delicious!  I usually make my own version of this at home and it's soooo good. ...

yellowblue organic wines!

I don't drink very often but when I do I really enjoy a glass of red wine.  I love the wines from Snoqualmie and their effort to keep their wine making organic.  I recently tried a Malbec from YellowBlue that was divine!  This wine is certified organic and packaged in environmentally friendly packaging.

Now I know what you're thinking - how could wine in a box be any good?  Trust me it's good! The packaging is not actually a box but it's what the company calls a 'Tetra Pak'.  The Tetra Pa...

monkeys are people too!!!

Seriously they are almost the same as us.  I remember reading this article in National Geographic a while ago that said  "Scientists have sequenced the genome of the chimpanzee and found that humans are 96 percent similar to the great ape species." Look at how beautiful and amazing and special they are.  Please help me help the monkeys and stop NASA!

Something so horrible and sad is happening!  NASA is preparing an experiment where they would expose tiny squirrel monkeys to a massive burst ...
