“How you can already miss someone when you are in the same room with them, I have no idea. But I do.”
Karen Harrington, Sure Signs of Crazy

“Personally, I would rather have a boy notice the book I was reading and tell me he liked it, too. That seems like a better sign of caring about someone than a kiss some French guy invented.”
Karen Harrington, Sure Signs of Crazy

The Newbery awards are just around the corner. It's time to decide what we will read for our last book of the month in 2013.

What book should we read in December?

You may write in titles, provided the book is a 2014 Newbery contender and already published.

Anna Hey, Karen!

Thanks for the comment and for befriending me back! I really like your blog and congrats on the debut novel...I'm adding it to my "to-read" list.

And don't sell yourself short on the comedy...cracking labs up is no small feat. (They are a notoriously tough room.)

Take care...

Brigid ✩ hi karen! thanx 4 accepting my friend request. i'm brigid, and i'm fifteen. i love 2 read, and I also write a lot. i've only written one book so far, but haven't had any luck when it comes to publishing. i'm working on like four other novels write now. if u ever have advice for young writers, i'm here :)

Jeremy I want to apologize for the all the recommendations from me yesterday. I wanted to share the Stoker Award news, and I only pressed the send button once--I'm not sure what happened to create so many messages. Some weird glitch.

Argh...this is terrible...

Again, I'm very sorry.

-Jeremy

Jeremy Here’s wishing you a nifty New Year filled with noiseless noses, neato nicknames, noble Nebraskans, gnarly narcoleptic nebulas, and novel novels about nut-eating narwhals and novercaphobic gnats.

-Jeremy :)

P.S.—I’m currently offering autographed/personally-inscribed copies of my novel, Vacation, with free shipping for those in the US. If there’s anything you could do to help me spread the word about this, I’d really appreciate it. Feel free to click here for details:

Jeremy Hi Karen!

Here’s wishing you a yippee-filled Yuletime overflowing with yard-long yams, yapping yoyo-yanking yetis, yak-milk yeast-cakes, and yellow yarn-yielding year-end yard-gnomes.

-Jeremy :)

Jeremy Hi Karen!

If you don't mind sharing--I was wondering, what's your favorite book of all time?

Here’s wishing you a weekend filled with wacky whims, wonderful weirdness, and well-disposed werecats.

-Jeremy :)
