Having an outline is tough, and essential when writing a book. Otherwise, I'm just putting words on paper. But soon enough the ideas begin to flow, the outlines make sense, and the book begins to flow.(less)

The Desert Raid (History)
1 chapters   —   updated Dec 19, 2019 04:17PM
Description: During World War II an American officer is imprisoned with British soldiers after the capture of the strategic port city of Tobruk. He escapes into the desert and comes across a secret German fuel depot for Rommel's panzers needed for the Afrika Korps' attack at El Alamein. Upon making it to friendly lines, the British Special Air Service (S.A.S.) debrief him and recruit the reluctant officer to guide them through the desert so they may blow up the depot. Along the way the American officer learns he can no longer sit on the sidelines and allow others to do his fighting for him.
The White Lion (Mystery & Thrillers)
1 chapters   —   updated Jun 06, 2017 07:24PM
Description: Africa 1954 'Big Jim faces the most dangerous animal on the Dark Continent.... Man! Big Jim and Caesar face off with Jonathan Roberts, known as 'Kaura' (warlord). Jonathan is a former professional white hunter-turned-poacher. He learns of a rare white lion roaming the territory in the Colony of Kenya. The Simba (lion) is reverred by local tribes. The game department wants Roberts arrested, and the lion saved, lest the tribes turn violent for the killing of the sacred lion. Along the way Big Jim must rescue Mary Watkins' younger sister, Caroline, who has been captured by Jonathan while searching for a lost city in the middle of the jungle. Readers will be taken on a journey of safari life during the golden age of this sort of adventure. Wildlife will be discussed in full by the characters, and the relationships between human and beast will represent a fine presentation of how we must learn to live together. My sequel picks up a year after 'Big Jim' took place. You can purchase a copy of 'Big Jim' in paperback or kindle from Amazon.com, or my website www.lucerobooks.com, or order a copy through your local bookstore.

“Not only have we not done the good things that God really wants us to do, but in fact, we’ve done just the opposite. We’ve all done a lot of sinful things that we’re not very proud of. The good news is that, before we even ask to be forgiven– before we even know we’ve done wrong, sometimes– God has this miraculous, saving love for us.”

Geoff Lawson Hi David, I've noticed that you have "Forgiven" by Geoff Lawson marked 'to read' Depending on when you downloaded it, a newer edition could be available (since 2016). I'm fascinated by 'Desert Raid' and will download it. Regards, Geoff Lawson

David Lucero Finally broke 200 pages on the 1st re-write of my next novel, a WWII thriller about an American liaison officer on a mission with British S.A.S. raiders out to destroy a vital German base in North Africa at the height of WWII.

Life intrudes and lately I've only got time to write during lunch at work. Between family life and work, I suppose that's natural.
