I was interested in writing a story about this character called Joe that consumed so much fiction from movies that he lives his life like he is in a movie; where one door closes and another always seems to open. And I wanted there to be this mystery about his missing father and it would begin in the cinema. I had this scene where he follows a couple of strangers home and confronts them for talking during the film. Why would he do such a thing and not even blink? And what's his journey going to be to wake him up and find his father?(less)

"I won this book through Goodreads Giveaways.

I liked the story and the characters, they are so out of this world they become realistic.

Movie Game by Michael Ebner
“People in his everyday – cashiers, bus drivers, teachers – were always much cooler or more evil in his memories. His mind had no time for the mundane – adding creative character and plot embellishments to everyone and everything for his sanity’s survival.”

Movie Game by Michael Ebner
“Snack consumption was legal but Joe expected anyone dining on the distracting shit to synchronize chewing with car chases and shootouts regardless of the genre. The Popcorn Pig was treating the space like a pie eating contest. The buttery snack was his instrument and he was doing a sound check with the venue's acoustics.”

“You know mistreating an animal is one thing, because we all like bacon and eggs, but mistreating a human being and a family member, well, that's just down right unforgivable.”
