Valentine's Day
No, I know it's tomorrow, but...
Back in the day, I used to write quite a few Valentine's Day stories, most in The Sentinel fandom. Those stories became fewer and fewer as I left fandom behind. The Best was originally supposed to be a Christmas story but was switched to Valentine's Day because my publisher at that time preferred it that way (and did it take a lot of rewriting to make it so. I mean seriously, why would the airports be jammed on Valentine's Day?). However, once I got my rights back, I returned it to its original Christmas setting, so that's no longer in contention.
Having said all that, things change. This past Christmas, I sent greetings to the list dad of CRVBoy, and although it had been a while since I'd subbed anything to him, he asked if I had a Valentine story I might be willing to give him. Rob has always been super nice to me, so I told him I'd see what I could come up with.
Here you have it, folks, My AI Valentine. It started with a brief snippet of a young man having been gifted an Echo Show. As I expanded it, I realized I had to add a scene from the protagonist's dad's POV, and darn, I like Logan, who really deserved better. I feel like writing about him and his Livy.
Well, we'll see.
Meanwhile, I'm writing another story in the Much Ado About Nothing fandom, one set in the John Wayne movie Hatari!, and a third in the same alternate universe as No One Should Be Alone. It's going to be a busy time. :-)

The end of an era
Is that too presumptuous?
On February 28, 2011, Bless Us With Content (all together now: emphasis on the second syllable.) was released, published by Dreamspinner.
In 2019, my rights to all my Dreamspinner works reverted back to me, and I began the task of getting new covers, re-editing the books, and re-releasing them. I held off on Bless Us because I wanted it to be on the 10th anniversary of its publication.
It will be available on the JMS Books site on February 27, the closest I could get to it's original pub date.
Now, here we go. It has a new cover, and while this Ash is a brunet rather than a blond, I'm happy with it.

RIP Porter Webb
Claudette Nevins was the actress who portrayed Porter Webb, mother of Clayton in the TV show JAG. She was the inspiration for Portia Mann. She passed away 2/20/20, and I didn't even know. :'-(

This is a novella that isn't from my Dreamspinner backlist. Today is release day for So Let Us Rejoice. In addition, it's on sale!

Tired. V. v. tired
I'm working on three books: Rainbows in Your Eyes, which is Book 4 of Strange, Strange World; its companion piece, More, By All Mores, and the last of the Spy vs. Spook stories, the alternate reality No One Should Be Alone. They're all basically finished, but I need to read them over once more before sending them off to JMS Books.
Total word count: Rainbows-- 102,500
More -- 35,533
Alone -- 21,406
Once these are done, I'll have the last two Dreamspinner books to get ready to be re-released. Then I'll toy with a fanfiction story about Quinn's uncles told from Tony's POV, with hopefully less angst. *g*
(and I just learned AO3 takes original fic! I can put it up there (although most likely that will go to Robb of CRVBoy first), along with all the Sidebars.)
Any surprise I'm tired?
