New fanfic
After the debacle with Dreamspinner and getting my backlist re-released, I found myself being lured back into fandom. I wrote a short based on Westward the Women called The Heart that has Loved and another, called Mine I Loved, and Mine I Praised which more or less completes the stories based on Much Ado About Nothing. These are both on AO3.
After that... well, we'll see.

We're living in interesting times
And we all know what that means--according to Chinese lore, we're cursed!
It's been a cruddy year. In January, we lost Tim Mead, who posted to Nifty and CRV-Boy. Hopefully, JMS will publish his stories. In February we lost Bob's sister Anne. And in March, we lost Edgar Murga, who'd been friends with Joey (and also Bobby) from the first grade in OLL. That was the most heartbreaking, since he was only 41. We suspect it might have been the result of Covid, which he'd caught in November, but the long-term effects seemed to have ambushed him.
There's this horror that's going on in the Ukraine, which is driving people from LJ because the Russians own it. I'd stopped posting there (except for an f/f story I hoped would aggravate the hell out of them) but I kept it open because many friends still post there, and I read their journals. There was also the cross-posting feature of Dream Width, but that's been pretty much squashed.
Meanwhile, on the plus side--Bob and I both had our second boosters yesterday, and so far, no side effects. I'm almost finished reading over the story I plan to submit for JMS's 12th anniversary. It's a cute story, if I say so myself, and once it's timed out, I might add more to it (there's a 15k limit) and re-release it.
I sent in a submission to the Flash Fic contest once again. I think it's an okay story, but I have no hopes for it being selected for anything. I'll probably post it to DW and maybe AO3.
And now, just for the heck of it, a picture of the fountain Bob thought we should have out on our lanai.
