Heart Sister!!

Ah my heart…I have a cover. The ARCs are at press...

These are glorious and rare words for a writer.

Special thanks to Orca Books, Rachel Page for the design, and Katie Carey for the illustrations of this spectacular cover.

I’ve had covers where, I’m like yeah, that nailed it. Exactly the tone I wanted to hit and the cover I’d imagined. And I’ve had covers where it just didn’t quite work, and didn’t Read more of this blog post »

“I hear a siren and, if we weren’t already in a hospital, I would have assumed they were coming for nearly everyone in this room.”
Michael F. Stewart, Counting Wolves

“The Goth boy stares at me, and I give him a what-are-you-looking-at stare right back.

“I’m dead,” he says in a dull monotone.

“Pardon me?” Adriana asks, but he keeps staring at me.

“You’re dead, too. Look at your veins. They’re blue.” He points at my forearms where dark veins run their lengths. “You’re rotting like me.”

I glance to Adriana, hands clasped and praying that she won’t leave me here.

Adriana’s stopped crying now and squints at the boy before standing to pull closed the curtain that rings my cot. “Crazy,” she says with an uncertain smile. “You’re not rotting.”

. . . ninety-nine, one hundred . “No,” I reply. “But I will if you leave me here.”
Michael F. Stewart, Counting Wolves

“Comparison is poison. The poison is available at any time. It detracts from very real accomplishments and it hides all the steps and hardships required along the way to any achievement, even the hard work required from a prodigy. The trick is to look inward”
Michael F. Stewart, Ray Vs the Meaning of Life

David Riggins Michael,

I have recently published a newly edited version of my book, Boys of the fatherless and I would like to get some honest reviews of the new edit. The Kindle version is currently .99 but you can read the first chapter for free on Amazon. I am also running a giveaway on goodreads for 10 printed copies.

Thank you for your help.

David Riggins
