RWBY: Roman Holiday and RWBY Fairy Tales

I haven’t updated here in a while because I’ve been busy working, moving, parenting, adulting, and of course writing. But I do have two new things out in the world that I wrote!

The first is my pandemic novel, RWBY: Roman Holiday, which has nothing to do with the classic 1953 film starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck other than the punny title—although there are some loose parallels if you squi

“Ephraim, it's an incredibly intimate thing to share one of your favorite books with someone else. I think so, anyway."

"How do you mean?"

"Your father gave me a book on our second date, the first gift he ever gave me." She turned to the front page and studied it. "When you give someone a book, it's lie saying: 'I'm trusting you with something that means a lot to me.' It doesn't matter whether you like it or not, though it helps if you do. What matters is that you understand why she likes it. Why she gave it to you.”
E.C. Myers, Fair Coin

“If you can't forgive yourself, how can you expect me to?”
E.C. Myers, Fair Coin

“Why is it a surprise that I'm a girl? Did I seem particularly masculine online?" "No, but... you didn't seem particularly feminine," Max said. "What does that even mean?" He massaged the corners of his eyes. "I don't know. Forget it." "You didn't seem particularly sexist online, but here we are.”
E.C. Myers, The Silence of Six

“Unlike Alice, Garp was a real writer —not because he wrote more beautifully than she wrote but because he knew what every artist should know: as Garp put it, 'You only grow by coming to the end of something and by beginning something else.' Even if these so-called endings and beginnings are illusions. Garp did not write faster than anyone else, or more; he simply always worked with the idea of completion in mind.”
John Irving, The World According to Garp

“Now, go forth and spread beauty and light.”
Elizabeth LaBan, The Tragedy Paper
