Sunday Snog – Off the Shelf

Here’s a snog-tastic snippet from my brand new and first ever novella, Off the Shelf, which is one of three novellas in the totally awesome Silk Stockings, from Xcite Books.

He said just one word before leaning down and capturing her mouth in a kiss.



‘Condoms?’



The plural hadn’t been lost on her, and the frisson of heat between her legs sparked into a full flame. Fuuuuuuuuck.



‘Mmm-hmm …’ she replied, twining her arms around his neck and kissing him back. He was a damn good kisser. He had just the right mixture of confidence and skill, which made the butterflies in her tummy transform into crazy zings of lust and zoom wildly throughout her body.



The delicious feelings increased tenfold when Damien opened his lips and she felt his tongue try for access to her mouth. She gladly admitted it, and the hot caress of his tongue against hers caused a trickle of juices to slide from her pussy and soak into the gusset of her pants.



She was suddenly very glad she’d gone with her earlier instinct and worn not only matching, but very sexy lingerie. Not that she was going to be wearing it for much longer …



Annalise shuffled forwards, gently pushing him. Damien took the hint and they moved as one towards her bed, falling onto it with her on top. Just as she leaned down to kiss him again, he stopped her. Removing his glasses, he gave a wicked smile and asked her to put them down on her bedside table.



‘Don’t want them getting in the way, do we?’



Climbing off him, Annalise carefully deposited his glasses on the bedside table. Then, agreeing with Damien’s logic about things getting in the way, she quickly removed her earrings, necklace and bracelet. Finally, she opened her top drawer and retrieved a condom. Turning to face him once more, she saw that he’d moved so he was now positioned with his head on the pillows, and his hands behind his head, waiting. He raised his eyebrows.



‘Oh, I’m sorry,’ Annalise said, her voice dripping with sarcasm, ‘was I taking too long?’



‘Yes,’ Damien replied without hesitation. ‘Now come here.’



Annalise clambered across the bed and straddled Damien. She felt the bulge in his trousers pressing against her arse and wriggled against it. Dropping the condom on his chest, she said, ‘I think you’re going to be needing that.’



‘You think?’



‘Shut up and give me a kiss.’



‘With pleasure, ma’am.’

Seriously, two flippin’ hours? She charged through the woods, ready to rain on someone’s parade. They’d just have to find someplace else to have an obscenely loud lovefest.

“God, the nerve of some people.”

She batted at a fly buzzing around her head. So what if she hadn’t had an orgasm in four months—thanks to her selfish ex-boyfriend—well, not one that wasn’t self-induced. And who cared if sex had been nonexistent while the relationship had suffered a slow, painful death.

“Men suck. Certainly no marathon lovemaking for me anytime soon.” She yanked at a limb and flinched when it lashed back against her face, knocking her glasses off. Unreasonable anger boiled over.

“Son-of-a-bitch, piece of….” She kicked out at nothing in particular, giving in to the long overdue temper tantrum. Brambles hooked around her foot and she did a face plant on the leaf-covered forest floor. My utter lack of grace strikes again. Rolling onto her back, she spit out dirt and stuck a scraped finger into her mouth. The wound smarted, distracting her from her fury. She stared at the blue sky through the budding tree limbs, sweat breaking out on her brow. The unseasonably warm spring had driven her to seek a peaceful weekend camping retreat. Maybe she should’ve opted for a hotel with air-conditioning instead. And a six pack of beer, give or take another twelve pack.

“Oh God, yes! More, more, more….” The deep, male voice echoed through the hollow.

Maddie pummeled the ground with her fists. “You oversexed freak!” Her words were drowned out by the man’s grunts.

Her pulse raced at his accent—an American mountain lion in truth. If he was looking for an introduction to Prudence, surely he wouldn't want to stroll in the gardens?

Her eyes narrowed. But, why would he be interested in her? Every other man of her acquaintance considered her difficult to manage at best, a termagant at worst. Perhaps he was another American in need of an heiress? She sniffed. She hated fortune hunters.

"Sir, you are unknown to me." Sudden silence descended, even the birds ceased singing, but she refused to apologize for the bite of disdain in her voice. What do I care what a stranger thinks?

Evil Plans and Stuff…

You like my notebook? Me too… it was a gift from the lovely Kay Jaybee and when I was thinking about writing this blog post, I couldn't resist snapping a photo of it to include. It seemed fitting, somehow

So, I've been mega busy just lately with various projects on the Writer Marketing Services side of things, and have also been squeezing in some serious writing time, too. As a result, I haven't posted an update on here for a while, so I thought I would let you in on a few exciting bits of news…

Firstly, I just finished (literally, this evening) the first draft of a long short story (hey, almost 12k is long for me) which will be the start of a series, if it's accepted. I'm aiming it at a particular publisher, who I won't name just in case I jinx it! But rest assured, you will have more information as and when there's anything to tell. It's called A Taste of London, and I think the title gives you a fair hint as to what it might be about. Want to know more? Check out the Pinterest board I created for it.

Secondly, there's lots of news concerning uniforms! Mmm, my favourite! Anyway, I found out recently that Uniform Behaviour is going to be available in paperback from the end of August, woohoo! I'm told it will be available worldwide, but at the moment, there's only a pre-order link up on Amazon UK, so feel free to place your order, or if you're feeling like giving the book some "like" and tag love, I'll be forever grateful.

Another piece of uniform-related news – I just had an email from Kristina Wright to say that my short erotic romance story, Passing Out Passion was accepted for her upcoming Duty & Desire: Military Erotic Romance anthology, which will be coming out in the autumn. Hurrah!

Finally, I just wanted to post a quick reminder about the two anthologies I'm co-editing with Victoria Blisse. We're still seeking submissions for Smut by the Sea (closing date 1st June) and Smut in the City (closing date 1st August). We're hoping to launch the books (they'll be available in print, too) at The Book Show in Luton in September. Check out the website for more details. It sounds like it's going to be a fantastic event!

Totty Tuesday – Jason Lewis

Oh, how I love Pinterest. There are photos of hot guys galore, ones you've heard of, ones you haven't, and ones you'd forgotten about… like the lovely Jason Lewis. I've only ever seen him in Sex and the City, where he was definitely worth a look, but he's also been in other films and TV series. And, it would seem, he's also been caught in a rain shower.
