I am what's called a 'pantser,' meaning I don't outline my books ahead of time. I start with an idea, begin writing, and see what happens. Because of that, a lot of my 'writing' time is spent staring off into space as the plot threads weave themselves together in my mind. Oftentimes it'll take awhile to figure out where the story is going, but I don't consider myself blocked, just waiting.(less)

As an adult, I still get to do that, which is really fun. I also love being a part of the writing community. I've met so many wonderful and wickedly creative people and am so much richer for knowing them. And of course there are the usual answers that I agree with as well...stuff like spending the day with no pants on while listening to my favorite music and drinking lots of coffee! (less)
