My name is Barbara Techel. I am an oracle reader & intuitive guide, author, and an enthusiast of animal wisdom, metaphysics, and spirituality. I guide women on inward expeditions of Self, encouraging them to tap into their intuitive nature, and empower them to evolve into living in alignment with what matters most to their soul and live a more balanced, gracious and peaceful life.

My favorite quote that continually encourages me as I continue to live my own self-directed life:

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” ~Anais Nin

My oracle guidance sessions have been described by clients as gentle, soulful, deep to the core, compassionate, energizing, trustworthy, caring,

Be More Dog – A Touching Story of a Tripawd that Reminds Us to Live in the Now

My wheelie dog, Frankie, from one of my favorite photos of her. I decided to take this photo of her next to the book “Be More Dog.” I couldn’t help but think she is admiring and saying, “Way to go, Jerry G. Dawg for spreading a positive message!”

As many of you know if you’ve been here on my blog since it began in 2007, my life took a pivotal turn when my dachshund, Frankie, became paralyzed and...

Through Frankie's Eyes: One woman's journey to her authentic self, and the dog on wheels who led the way (Nonfiction)
1 chapters   —   updated May 13, 2015 06:34PM
Description: Indie Excellence Finalist 2013: Renowned novelist E.M. Forster wrote: "I suggest that the only books that influence us are those for which we are ready, and which have gone a little farther down our particular path than we have yet got ourselves." If your authentic self has disappeared beneath a burden of should haves or could haves—pleasing everyone but yourself, worrying about everything that's out of your control while ignoring what only you can change, settling for less than you know you can be—this is such a book. Author Barbara Techel has certainly gone farther down the path toward self-discovery than most of us have dared, and here she shares that journey with readers ready for its influence on their own choices. It's your time: to grow; to learn from a woman who's overcome her deepest fears to live joyfully, with integrity and intent; and to marvel at the magic of it happening under the guidance and knowing eyes of a small, red dog on wheels. Let this story seep into your consciousness and inspire you—indeed, allow you—to start or continue your own fulfilling journey to who you really are. You've picked up this book because you're craving the inspiration and uplift it so generously offers. Don't put it down. It’s a gift, if you're ready to accept it. Read it. Hold onto it to remind you that though you may have work to do, you absolutely can achieve the life you're striving for. Free yourself of the things that no longer matter, and embrace how beautiful the world is to someone who can see it…through Frankie's eyes.

Doing well here too. Thanks for what you wrote about Frankie as a therapy dog. I'm actually going to retiring her as of July. :( She will be 13 in August. Time for my little one to enjoy her senior years.

Barbara Thank you, Robert! I received a special note from a mother a few days ago. Her 3- year old son has cerebal palsey and was upset he would have to wear a brace on his leg at night. She read him Frankie's story. Just before bed he said, "I have to wear my brace just like Frankie." Knowing this positive effect Frankie has on children is one of the best feelings in the world.
Thank you for stopping by to share your wonderful thoughts about Frankie and her story. I sincerely appreciate it.
Barb

Robert Hi Barb,
There are a couple of points about your inspiring children's book that are very special: the story of Frankie touches the adult reader as well as the child; you inspire children who are also sick, injured, or disturbed with Frankie's story and the way it is also your story and a message of hope.

Robert
