Dr. Seaburg served congregations in Montpelier, Vermont and Norway,
Maine. He served as an editor for Beacon Press from 1965-1966 and
was at the Unitarian Universalist Association, first as Information
Officer and then Director of Information, from 1971 until his
retirement in 1985. Kay Montgomery, Executive Vice President of the
UUA, said, "Carl was, simply, one of the most gracious people I've
ever known. For his entire career and even through his retirement,
he was generous with his time and his very real wisdom. He was a
passionate institutionalist--he loved the Association--and,
typically, he was also courageous about offering loving criticism
when he thought it appropriate."
