Happy Valentine's Day

A love note:

For those who need a hug. A moment of lightness in a dark day. A split second of 'me time' in the midst of 'mommy/wife/employee/daughter/caregiver etc time. For those who have lost loved ones. For those who have found new loves.

For those who crave adventure. Those who want a moment's peace. Need a smile, a laugh, a thrill, some passion.

I hope you find it. With a special person, or within the pages of a book. Because living and loving make each day incredible.

I need an idea- share your fav

So here's e fun planned for Feb 15. Along with some other Samhain authors, I've been invited to read an excerpt from one of my books for the Lady Jane's Salon celebration of romance.

Now I only have two problems. Picking a book. Picking a 10 minute section to read.

Oh, and not blushing furiously if there are any naughty words in the section. I know, I'll be on radio/podcast, but I will blush so hard you'll be able to hear it in my voice!

You can't help me not blush, but you can suggest a book and favorite section. Anyone?

Celebrating my 10th Samhain release

As you (probably) know, I'm having a party over on facebook today, celebrating the release of Turn It Up–my 10th ebook release with Samhain. (To join in, you have to go LIKE me. Yes, I feel as if I'm 12 again…)

When I mentioned in passing what the Grand Prize was, I had a few readers mentioned that they don't do Facebook. So I'm going to make sure you have a chance to join in at least for that part of the party.

There's no way to post all the covers easily. The Grand Prize is a set of all of my 2011 releases. That's 7 ebooks and 3 print. And yes, they are all with Samhain, which makes me incredibly happy. My editor, Anne Scott is a big reason why I love working with Samhain, plus this summer I'll have a story in an anthology with my Aussie friends, Jess Dee and Lexxie Couper, and that project is being editted by Jennifer Miller.

The prize:

ebooks/

Turn It Up- Turner Twins #2- Contemporary

Stormy Seduction- Pacific Passion #2- Paranormal

Silent Storm- Pacific Passion #3- Paranormal

Rising, Freestyle- Xtreme Adventures #2- Contemporary

Paradise Found- Bandicoot Cove #2/4- Contemporary

Black Gold- Tahkini Wolves #1- Paranormal

Rocky Mountain Heat- Six Pack Ranch- Contemporary rerelease/expanded book

print/

Breaking Wave- Forces of Nature 1&2 anthology

Under the Midnight Sun- Granite Lake wolves 3&4 anthology

Turn It Up

Winner will receive their books release day (or a few days earlier ;) So that means new books spread out through the year. Think it's a good prize? I hope so.

The fine print.

PLEASE, only enter here on the blog if you can't enter at Facebook. Don't enter both places. To enter, let me know which you like better, contemporary or paranormal, or do you like it all? (like me?)

Good luck!

Monthly Update

Well, it's not mid-month, for either January or February, but I haven't done an update for a while, so it's time.

I've now been on the road for 97 days. The fact I've been able to continue to work while traveling is amazing me. It's also making my head spin a little at times, so again, if I owe you something, assume I've forgotten and give me a shout. :D I'll be sending out a newsletter in the new couple days.

And on Tuesday, release day, there's a party happening at my Facebook page (but you'll be able to enter the Grand Prize contest here at my blog and at the Goodreads and Amazon feeds.

Here's the current working list:

Waiting for:

•  Cover for Rising, Freestyle

•  Edits for my summer books and beyond. Everything up to Silent Storm is completely ready to go!

Working on:

•  Promo for Turn I t Up and the two Pacific Passion books. Moira Rogers and I have an incredible contest planned for May to celebrate the PP series and the release of their new series …And the Beast. More news to come. (Think BIG prizes!)

Writing:

•  Writing the rest of Black Gold. This is the longest wolfies to date, and it's been an interesting story to write. Yes, they've taken over a few times on me. Oh well! Shaun is a hoot as usual, and Gem is perfect for him. And the secondary characters are making it a busy busy place.

•  Getting the cowboys up to full novels (Rocky Mountain Heat, etc.) and beginning to write book three. I LOVE MATT! Okay, he might be my favorite Coleman boy so far, and I adored Daniel, so that's saying something. Some of what is being added is simply making sure the writing is consistent with what I can do now, some is adding more scenes with the boys. I am so excited about this series, and even though it seems a long way off right now, nearly back-to-back releases starting November is going to be a thrill!

A little bit of housekeeping

I'm in the process of getting my new reader/fan page at Facebook fixed up. Unfortunately, that means I'll be closing down the current personal account, and the fanpage that is attached to it. PITA, right? I don't want to lose you though, so I need you to switch to the new account.

To make it more fun, I'm getting ready for a new party to go along with the release of TURN IT UP next week, so what I need you to do is go and hit that 'like' button at my new page so I can see you, and you'll be able to join in for the prizes.

With TURN IT UP being my 10th release from Samhain, and since I've got 10 books coming out in 2011, I think I'll be able to convince some friends to join me in the celebration!

Here's the link to the new fan page: VivianArend . There might be random gifting happening between now and next Tuesday as well. ;)

And there's a new cover to peek at! I posted it in the PRINT covers photo album…a certain wolfie book out in print this coming October?

New Cover!

MAY 17, 2011

Love speaks volumes without a single word

Pacific Passion, Book Three

In the months they've traveled together, Laurin Marshall and Matt Jentry's attraction has grown beyond spectacular sexual passion to into a deeper emotional connection. Still, Laurin wrestles with one last question: how a water shifter and an air shifter can possibly find permanent common ground.

Matt is content to wait patiently for Laurin to realize he has no desire to change her sky-borne nature. Until a giant golden eagle touches down on the Stormchild and tips the delicate balance of more than just the boat.

Laurin's obvious affection for the newcomer comes as a shock. And so does the flash of jealousy that interferes with his shamanic ability to heal the man's malady. While Matt struggles to balance his conflicted responsibilities, Laurin attempts to reconcile her undeniable feelings for one of her kind with her desire for Matt.

Somewhere between the ocean depths and the mountaintops, they need to find a love strong enough to call them both home to the Stormchild.

Warning: Familiar lovers (hot) with old rivals (hotter) and a wild curse-melting ménage (hottest yet). Get ready for one exotic paranormal that will make you look to the skies and sea with longing.

Read an Excerpt

I think Angie Waters did a fantastic job with these covers, and I'm filling out the form now for the print anthology. I can't wait to see what she does for that!

The view from my 'desk'

We're in Texas right now, just left the coast. I miss the ocean already, but we'll be headed back soon. Oh, and here's my luxurious home and my lovely family. :D

I'm working on an update as to what all is happening in my writer's world, but just a quick note to say things are going very well, and I have lots of new ideas for books driving me crazy.

Working on the next wolfies

Just a snippet from Black Gold. Who knows if it'll be in the final version, but just to prove I'm still alive and kicking…

~~~
A couple other people joined them, and Shaun stepped slightly in front of her, as if to guard her. A terribly naughty thought popped into her mind, and as the elevator doors clicked shut, she grabbed a handful of his shirt and tugged upward, hard. He stiffened, but didn't move as she slipped her hand under his T-shirt and let her fingers roam over his warm skin.
Oh dear, she was getting turned on just touching his back. Firm and muscular, the swoop of his waist defined by the cut of his obliques. The elevator stopped and a couple left, leaving them more room. Rather than shifting away, Gem stuck to his side, sneaking her hand around to his belly. Under her fingers, his muscles quivered as she stroked the ridges of his six-pack. She watched his throat move as he swallowed hard, her touch now slipping to play with the faint dusting of hair on his lower abdomen. The intriguing trail disappeared into where his shirt remained tucked into his pants in the front and Gem longed to be able to dip her hand lower.
The elevator door dinged and she withdrew her hand quickly, dragging her fingernails lightly over his skin. Leaving her mark on his body.
She wanted her mate.
