Hiding and writing

Before I was published it seemed I had lots of time to write. Now, I need time to write PLUS I have all the business side of things to deal with, like edits and cover art forms and…

Sometimes the best thing for me to do is to close the door and simply write. I’m working on a new story for next Febraury that will appear in a duology with HelenKay Dimon. I’m working on the third Adrenaline Search & Rescue book. I’ve got a couple shorter stories to do, and ideas bubbling up for the final of the Takhini Wolves arc, a new YA fantasy, an urban fantasy in a Alternate Universe…

If you don’t see me for a while, I’m having fun finding out ‘what comes next.’

And now that I put that out there, here’s my special thank you to everyone who has supported this series. I’m so glad you’ve fallen in love with the Colemans, because it means I get to return again and again to revisit with people who have become friends to me. I love seeing what new things are going on, and in this case, it’s a special treat to see Joel Coleman come into his own and grow up so nicely.

Also? I love Vicki to pieces, so there’s that.

I hope you enjoy revisting with all the clan, and the sneak peeks into the yet unclaimed and untamed Six Pack boys, and their kin. It’s going to be a fun ride for a while!

Tickets are $5.00 and you can purchase a ticket at the door the day of the event. Here is a link to all the authors who have registered thus far and will be participating in the EXPO.

6:15pm - 7:45pm        SOCIAL EVENT: SAMHAIN’S SAFARI   Lions and tigers and shapeshifters… oh my! Enjoy jungle beats, tasty treats and gaming feats with the staff and authors at Samhain Publishing. 10:00-11:00               PUBLISHER SPOTLIGHT: SAMHAIN PUBLISHING   Publisher Spotlights are where representatives from the company speak to a group of aspiring and published authors to let them know which type of book and which genres they are acquiring, the word length and any other information an author may need to know to determine if your book is right for their company. They will also discuss submission requirements and/or provide a handout.

1:15pm - 3:30pm       SOCIAL EVENT: RT BOOK REVIEWS AWARDS CEREMONY  Cheer on your favorites as RT Book Reviews presents the 2012 Reviewers Choice Awards and the Career Achievement Awards.

11:00am - 2:00pm       SOCIAL EVENT: GIANT BOOK FAIR   Meet more than 400 authors who will autograph books, posters and bookmarks. Bring your “keepers” and have them signed! This event is also open to the public and can be purchased as an individual ticket for just the Giant Book Fair. Here is a link to all the authors who have registered thus far.

8:00pm - 9:00pm        SOCIAL EVENT: CARINA PRESS COCKTAIL PARTY   Join Carina Press authors, Executive Editor Angela James and other members of the Carina Press team for an hour of cocktails and light snacks starting at 8pm. Kick off your evening with delicious treats and take part in a fun activity designed to help you get to know Carina Press authors better. Participants will be entered into our drawing for an iPad 2 (the winner will be announced at the end of the party).

What to read after…

I’m already getting comments from people who have enjoyed HIGH RISK. And those who haven’t tried my other works yet are asking: What to read next.

Well. None of my other books are exactly like HIGH RISK, but there are some things to consider. Quick suggestions:

 

 

 

If you liked the team spirit/band of brothers in HIGH RISK- check out the Six Pack Ranch. These books are about actual brothers and cousins, and while the setting is in the country, it’s still Canadian and gorgeous.

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you enjoyed the great outdoors, try Falling, Freestyle & Rising, Freestyle. (In print together in FREESTYLE)

These are shorter category length works the first with skiing, the second with rock climbing.

New Book- HIGH RISK

I’ve debated a dozen times if I should post this, or just pop up the cover and blurb and say “Wheeee! It’s here!” But even though I feel a little geeky, I gotta do it.

It’s been an amazing journey– and if you’ve been following me for any length of time you know how much I love traveling. This time the destination was slightly different, but like all journeys, its NOT just reaching the end that counts. It’s the things you learn, and the people you meet along the way that make it extraordinary.

This adventure, though,  started with Maya Banks. She’s the one who lit a fire under my butt to think about subbing a project to New York. HelenKay Dimon pulled out all the stops and wrote me long, long letters when I was looking for my agent. Elle Kennedy helped my poke my proposal into shape. Lauren Dane and Ann Aguirre held my hands as the auction started. Maya was there as well, laughing with me at my excitement.

Through it all, Bree and Donna (aka Kit Rocha/Moira Rogers) were my rocks, giving hugs and hits as needed. My beta readers Nancy, Lillian & Kathy gave me O_o looks and “Omg, so good” in balanced enough proportions I knew I’d be okay. When Jaci Burton read the final draft and told me she loved it–incredible.

And you. The readers, who have expressed interest since the first rumours of the new series, to being excited over cover art, and ARCs and now release day.

Now I have tears in my eyes because all these people mean the world to me, and while I’m immensely proud of HIGH RISK, and the other books coming in the series, I’m even more thrilled by the world of people around me. I

Ready to take an Adventure?

In honour of HIGH RISK officially arriving March 5, we’re going traveling.

Since this is something new–new series, new publisher, new genre–I wanted to do something else new. So we’re taking a tour to some of my favourite blogs over the next week. And I’m showing you pictures. LOL– you know, like that annoying person at the office party? Except I hope you enjoy these pictures. I’m sharing some highlights from trips I’ve taken over the years. Amazing scenery and fun activities to get us in the mood to read HIGH RISK, which is set in the incredibly beautiful Canadian Rockies, and stars some active and adventurous people.

I’m not nearly as adventurous as they are. Just saying.
