They ended up under a tree, his jacket spread out as a picnic blanket for the assortment of carnival food he’d purchased.

Lynn sank her teeth into a fully loaded hotdog, the burst of flavors making her moan happily as her eyes rolled skyward. “Oh, that is so good.”

Parker held out a container toward her. “Here, try the cheese sticks.”

She licked off a bit of sauce from the side of her mouth as she pulled a couple from the container. He watched, mesmerized, as she took a bite. Every swallow, every taste, his gaze remained fixated on her lips.

It should have made her feel uncomfortable, but instead his obvious fascination sent her temperature soaring. “Are you going to have something to eat?”

A low rumble escaped him.

Lynn licked her fingertips one after the other, looking up with her pinkie still in her mouth to find Parker staring as if being tortured.

He swallowed hard, adjusting his position beside her. “You don’t play fair.”

“Were we playing another game?” she asked primly, pleased to hold her own in teasing him. “I could have sworn we were having dinner.”

He leaned over, planting a hand on either side of her hips as he pressed his chest over hers and pinned her to the ground. “Just so you know,” he warned, “I plan to have you for dessert.”

Low, needy. The words forced out as if he could barely restrain himself.

“I can’t wait.”

His lips touched hers before she’d even finished speaking, his entire torso held above her body. She wasn’t locked in place by his weight, but by the sheer heat of his presence. Lynn squirmed, arching up to make contact with his firm chest, threading her fingers into his hair and urging him to take the kiss deeper.

Her nipples were trapped under the confines of her bra cups, providing far too little friction when what she wanted was skin on skin. Parker slowed, lazily exploring her lips with the tip of his tongue. He pressed a kiss to the corner of her mouth before retreating to his side of their picnic feast.

“I have to stop now, or we’ll get thrown out.”

Lynn worked to steady her breathing. She picked up her strawberry milkshake and took a deep drink while she fought for control. The sweet, cold concoction slipped down her throat smoothly, but all she could think about was the craving she had for more of his heat. “We could go somewhere else…”

“And miss the fireworks?” Parker stroked her leg slowly, fingers light on the line between the bottom of her skirt and the length of her bare leg. Teasing, tiny motions that made her squeeze her thighs together, desperate for relief.

Her fingers tightened around the cool container in her hand. “I’ve never known anyone like you before.”

That needy rumble he made sounded again, bouncing off the ache building deep and low in her belly. “Just a guy who can’t keep his hands off the gorgeous woman he’s been craving for hours. If I were more of a gentleman I’d take you for coffee or dessert now, some place where we could talk more, instead of planning the quickest way to get you out of your clothes.”

“We’ve been talking nonstop for the past two hours,” she pointed out once the delicious shiver stopped racing over her entire body.

“Yup, and I’ve enjoyed every second of it.”

“Good. So now let’s get out of here and enjoy something other than talking.” Lord, where was this brazen confidence coming from?

The intense fire in his eyes was back. As if the most important thing on his mind was stripping her bare and nibbling her from one end to the other. “Remember that comment I made before about you not playing fair?”

Lynn got up on her knees. With her hands on her hips she gave him her best naughty expression, too turned on to even consider how raunchy the words would sound until she actually whispered them. “Please, Parker. Please take us somewhere so I can suck your cock.”

“Fuck.”

He had their picnic packed up, his jacket back on, and her by the hand in under a minute. Her cheeks were furiously hot, but in spite of that she laughed at his eager rush. He joined in, the two of them dodging people as they raced to the parking lot.

“We can talk while we have sex,” Lynn offered. “Does that make it better?”

He stopped her in the middle of doing up her seatbelt, his hand catching her chin as he kissed her again, hard enough to make her lips tingle by the time he pulled away far enough to stare into her eyes.

“You’re going to be too busy with your mouth on my cock to talk.”

Well, now. That would be fine, too.

Flashback Friday – Turn It Up

It’s time for Flashback Friday. Today we are talking about the second Turner Twin’s book: Turn It Up.

 Turn It Up

Heroine: Natasha – Determined to have a baby before 35, and willing to enter a marriage of convenience with Maxwell Junior to get it.

Hero: Maxwell Junior – Has loved Natasha for as long as he can remember. Offers to help with Operation Baby in hopes she’ll fall in love with him.

Tidbit: Someone should’ve told me when I began writing – be careful what you name your characters. When I wrote Turn It On, all family members had names that began with Max ( for a monetary legacy). The heroine of that book had a brother who I simply called Junior. Otherwise his name was Max.

And then readers started asking for his story, and I was forced to write a hero named Junior! As it turned out, he’s one of the sexiest men around. Young but very eager  and I absolutely love his book. But a hero named Junior? lol

Friday Flashback – Stormchild

Over on Facebook, we started a new feature called Friday Flashback. It’s a chance to revisit some of Vivian’s earlier books and get new tidbits about the stories. Today, we are looking back on Stormchild.

 

Heroine: Laurin – Air shifter hiding from her people within the Sea shifter people. Destined to be part of an ancient mystical prophecy.

Hero: Matt – Sea shifter shaman, can shift into any sea creature. Knows his connection with Laurin will lead to incredible things

Notable tidbit about story: This is another paranormal with atypical shifters. For me the challenge was to write three books with the same hero and heroine — something that I had never done before. This was in the days before serials became popular again, and the three books that make up Pacific Passion trilogy are not really serials. They are short stories, independent with a definite HFN, working toward a HEA. but I really enjoyed getting to take Matt and Laurin from discovering they were “meant to be together” to truly falling in love.

If you haven’t read Stormchild, watch out–there should be a heat warning on these three! If you’ve read it, you’ll know what I mean!!
