Nancy is a happily former Realtor. Without a license to hold her back, she is free to share her opinions about all things real estate especially in Regan McHenry Real Estate Mysteries. She's had a checkered career past: she's worked for the San Jose Mercury News, been a librarian, photo archivist, and been the business manager of Shakespeare/Santa Cruz.
Her work history reflects her philosophy: people should try something radically different every few years. Writing murder mysteries set in Santa Cruz is one of her newer adventures. Her most recent turn has been trying her hand as the editor of "Cozy Food" which has caused her to think that cozy writers are the nicest people out there.

Periodically the neighbor who lives below me has bright lights on his mostly vacant property in the wee hours of the morning. I'm so curious about them. I wrote "A Neighborly Killing" as a story that solves the mystery of his lights...of course if I'm right and he finds out, I'm in big trouble.(less)

She's a mystery writer, after all, unconventional, and they make a great elegant couple who work well and equally together. It doesn't hurt that I love old British mysteries or had a cat named Whimsey.(less)

I write cozy style mysteries with a Realtor protagonist named Regan McHenry. She comes across the occasional body selling houses — she and her husband even bought a house with a partially mummified body in it — and she has friends and clients who sometimes find themselves in a mess. She’s a bit of... Read more of this blog post »

This is one of the most meaningful books I've ever read. The author is not a widower, but he wrote Davids's experience perfectly; I know because his feelings match mine. The book spoke to me on so many levels. It was just outstanding.
