Final MALWARE edits
I'm embarking this week on the final round of edits for MALWARE. I'm going endeavour to get through a chapter a day (or maybe one every two days or so, we'll see). After that, the proofing can start, and the book should be done by the beginning of October or so.

More MALWARE!
Today, I mostly completed my first draft of MALWARE. I say mostly because there are still holes in the story (largely around the ending and some of the motives behind things). However, I'm confident that I will be able to iron these out during the readthrough.

Further MALWARE progress
I'm just under halfway through my first rewrite of MALWARE, working off the rough, and things are starting to take shape a lot more. As with the rough of FIRMWARE, I was merely working with a vague idea of what I wanted the story to be about, and seeing where it wanted to go.

MALWARE progress
This morning, I completed the rough draft of MALWARE. The rough stands at 41,000 words (FIRMWARE is 43,000). At the moment, I'm not entirely certain of the ending, but I'll have a think about it during the rewrites.

FIRMWARE Sequel
I have this week started to write a follow-up to FIRMWARE, my techno-thriller about a future in which a number of people throughout the world have chips embedded in their heads. At the moment I'm not going to say too much about what will go into the sequel, and only that I had an interesting idea that I decided to pursue.

Project Starfighter - Sample Chapter
Chris Bainfield watched as the fragments continued to fall from the sky, leaving fiery trails behind them as they did so, hurtling down and splashing soundlessly into the ocean; wreckage from the battleships that had been blasted to smithereens by their opponents and tumbled from the orbits they had once maintained. The Eye of the Storm, the Goliath-class battle cruiser, had come down a few hours earlier. Or what was left of it, at any rate.
