What Inspires Us to be Heroes?
I suppose that I'm only normal if I find some of my very greatest inspiration in movies, literature, and art. Well maybe I'm a little more nuts than most because I consciously think about these things and the themes and lessons that are being taught. I suspect sometimes that I'm even finding hidden meanings where the writers had no intention of meaning anything.
I'm naturally drawn to the hero/epic tales. I like being reminded that human nature can overcome evil and become much more. Heros...

Its Only Sorta About Who You Know in Life…
I was recently interviewed about my experience as an entrepreneur. In the course of the 60 minute interview a very powerful phrase came out of my mouth and I've been reflecting on it ever since. I said, "Its not actually about who you know in life, but instead about who you are in life that matters."
We commonly accept in life that people gain jobs and opportunities based on their personal connections. I think its a reality that can't be ignored. I think however that the more important...

Your Legitimate Speed Dial: Who Do You Really Call the Most?
I had a recent reality check that came from an unlikely source; my cell phone. The Android smartphone platform has a unique feature. As part of the dialer application there is a favorites list. This favorites list is not a user generated speed dial but instead a list of the contacts you actually talk to the most. Yep, its a quick look at reality and my list is a little scary. I'm happy to report that my wife is currently leading the list in the top spot. Sadly however I have two work...

Top 10 Alaskaisms I Learned this Trip
I had the chance to spend 5 days in Alaska this past week. This was my first time in the 49th state of the US and I learned a lot about the differences that exist in that state. Mostly these cultural differences come from the climate and the general lack of people (also due to the climate). Here is my short list.
Every single car I saw had an engine block heater. The idea is to plug the car in during the night and coldest days to prevent it from freezing so much that it won't start. Since I...January 25, 2010
WordPress Malware & Virus Attacks. Blog Security
On Christmas Eve 2009 all of my websites were attacked. I have two hosting accounts with GoDaddy and all of my wordpress sites on both accounts were down. In addition two business partner's of mine who have their own unique hosting accounts (one with GoDaddy and the other with HostMonster) also had all of their wordpress sites go down at the same time.
After almost a full month of work I have finally managed to clean my server completely of any and all malware and to rebuild my sites with

7 Ways to Protect Yourself Using Only Your Cell Phone
Among my greatest passions in life are smartphones and personal security. I know right; I'm geeky and paranoid. I spent my spare time in the past two weeks considering ways that a person's cell phone can be utilized in personal security. I'm not referring to the stun gun cell phones or other fake phone weapons on the market. I'm talking about the thousands of Americans walking around with Blackberrys, iPhones, Google Phones, etc who need to eliminate risk of becoming a victim of a crime or...

A little "The Secret" moment in our Family
In March of 2009 Ami was very much so wanting to re-decorate our bedroom and she went out looking for bedding at a variety of stores. One particular comforter set stuck out to her and she sent me the following image via text message.
This particular set was marked at almost $300 at that time and she knew we were not prepared to buy it but hey… she can dream right?
Friday night Ami spent at least an hour looking online for a new bed set. We decided the time was right to make a purchase and she...

Top Ten Reasons Why I Boycot the iPhone
Ok, so people often act shocked when they find out that I had a macbook and sold it to switch back to a PC, or that I had an ipod but dumped it when I got my android phone. While most people still use PCs in general, the public is under the impression that when anyone switches to Mac there is no going back. Furthermore it is accepted as conventional wisdom that the iPod and the iPhone are the very best of MP3 players and Smartphones. I DON'T THINK SO, and therfore I am going to give it to...
