What do I love about writing romance? The same things I love in my reading: that intense undeniable attraction between the main characters. The emotional moments that can come hard and fast, or so soft and sweet, they creep into the heart while cutting to the bone.

I need characters that feel real, strong friendships depicted, and great antagonists. Give me some crazy hot erotic intimacy between the hero and heroine and flashes of humor to balance things out. And of course, I want a good story with a satisfying ending.

No matter what the subgenre, those are some of the things I aim for in my writing and I hope you find in my books.

I'm cutting a little close here. Meant to post a longer catch up type message, but the most important point is to wish you all an Awesome Christmas and Happy New Year. I'll post the  longer  note in a week or so. In  the meantime, stay safe, enjoy and embrace love.   Merry Christmas guys! Read more of this blog post »

Vanessa Jaye Harlequin Books wrote: "Hello Vanessa, it is a pleasure to meet you."

Hey there Harlequin,

Big fan and long time reader of your books. :)

Harlequin Books Hello Vanessa, it is a pleasure to meet you.

Vanessa Jaye Since Goodreads only officially list giveaway for printbooks, I'm not sure where to post this for an ebook, so I'm throwing it up here.

I'd like to give away 2 copies of my upcoming November 1 release Hunter of the Heart (Samhain Publishing)for review (good, bad or indifferent). If you're interested, please contact me at vanessajaye@hotmail.com. Depending on the response (ie, more than two requests, lol) I'll do a random pick.

You can read more about the book on my site, here: http://www.vanessajaye.com/hunter-of-...

Thanks! :)

Vanessa Jaye Just saw the Hunter of the Heart is up on the Coming Soon pages over on Samhain. They also have a different excerpt from the one I have on my site. http://store.samhainpublishing.com/hu...

Vanessa Jaye That Amazon 1-Click Buy button is going to impoverish me. Woke up an hour ago and I've already bought two books over there.

Vanessa Jaye Sorry about the little add-book frenzy. I'm updating my blog and decided to replace the (outdated) list of books I in the sidebar with the Goodreads bookshelf. But I needed to add those books to Goodreads first before I deleted them from the blog. :-P

Vanessa Jaye Last few months I've been checking out more non-con/ non-pc books. I blame Goodreads.

Hey thanks for accepting! I like your reviews. Interesting and clearly stating your reasonings. Looking forward to reading more.
