Elizabeth Reeve lives in the Sonoran Desert with her husband, a pair of standard-issue writers’ cats, an extremely belligerent parakeet, and a backyard full of wild-growing nightshade. She is often startled awake at midnight by the haunting calls of coyotes chasing their prey through the wash near her house, or by the college students next door throwing a party.

When she’s not writing, Elizabeth enjoys reading, video games, knitting and tricking her friends into watching her favorite television shows with her.

If you’ve never had a chance to read my Carmilla-riffing f/f college research paper story, “Leila” – which you probably haven’t, because it has been out of print for ages – I have good news! You can listen to it at the Nobilis Erotica podcast. It actually went up on the 29th, but I didn’t have a chance to listen to it myself until today, much less write up a linking post.

(Aside: I don’t remembe...

Frances Wilson
“Revenge writing is a female genre. Men who have been left by women or made cuckolds by rivals either lick their wounds in humiliated silence or start the Trojan Wars. Having no other power or public voice, the betrayed woman reaches for her pen.”
Frances Wilson, The Courtesan’s Revenge

Caroline Stevermer
“Faris turned on him. "Why choose to wear black today, of all days? I know why I'm in black. Why are you? Mourning?

He looked startled. "One does not wear mourning for a servant."

You still don't understand, do you? He was not my servant."

He regarded her anger, aghast. "What then? What else could he be?

Her empty hands shook as she held them out to him. Her voice shook as she replied, "Glove to my hand." Slowly she closed her fists. "Everything.”
Caroline Stevermer, A College of Magics
