Speaking test

Part 1 (Interview)

– What is your name?
– Do you work or study?
– What did you do before this job?
– Are you good at remembering numbers?
– Did you like math and working with numbers in school?
– Do you like to share things with others?
– What kinds of things can you share with your friends?
– Do you think sharing is important? Why or why not?
– How do you feel when someone shares something important with you?

Part 2 (Cue Card)

Talk about a place with a nature view that you enjoy. You should say:

– where it is
– how you found it
– why you chose this place

and explain why you find this place enjoyable.

Part 3 (Discussion)

– Why do people choose to relax in nature?
– Where can people enjoy nature in a city besides parks?
– Do you think spending time in nature has benefits for mental health?
– How can urban areas incorporate more natural spaces?
– Are there any disadvantages to living close to nature?
– How has the way people interact with nature changed over time?

Part 1 (Interview)

– What is your name?
– Where are you from?
– What do you like most about your hometown?
– Has your hometown changed much over the years?
– Would you recommend your hometown to tourists? Why or why not?
– How do you think your hometown will change in the future?
– Do you use coins in your daily life?
– Do you usually carry coins with you?
– Is it convenient to use coins?
– Would you consider collecting coins? Why / why not?

Part 2 (Cue Card)

Describe an old friend you lost touch with and got in contact with again. You should say

IELTS Writing Test – General Training

Writing task 1 (a letter)

A major festival takes place in your town every year, and you would like to contribute to it. Write a letter to the festival manager. In your letter:

– Share your ideas for the festival
– Explain how you would be able to help with the festival
– Ask some questions about the event

Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some people believe that the average age of people having children is increasing these days and that this trend may lead to problems in the future. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

You have noticed some students from your college engaging in a dangerous activity outside the college grounds. Write a letter to the principal of your college.

In your letter:

– Explain what the students were doing
– Describe why this activity is dangerous
– Suggest what the college can do to address the situation.

Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Nowadays, many people in cities live in large apartment blocks. Does this kind of accommodation have more advantages or disadvantages?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
