The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

I have read several books since returning home from my mission–particularly books that were released during my time in the mission field. One of those books was suggested by a good friend of mine and since reading it, it has become one of my favorite books. It’s certainly the best book I’ve read since my return.

I’m talking about The Fault In Our Stars by John Green.

the-fault-in-our-starsLong story short: The Fault In Our Stars is the story of Hazel Grace who is diagnosed with thyroid cancer and she’s… expecting to...

I’m Leaving.

I’ve been putting this post off for sometime now–partially because I haven’t known exactly how to say it, I guess.

But it’s time to let the few people who actually care know. I’ve been teasing everyone about it for months now on Twitter. Yes, this is what the #Foreshadow tweets are all about.

I’m leaving.

I’ve decided to serve as a full-time missionary for my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the Mormon church.) For those of you who don’t know, this means that for the next...

YA Book Suggestion: The Maze Runner Trilogy by James Dashner

Since reading the Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins, The Road by Cormac McCarthy and Nineteen-Eighty-Four by George Orwell, I’ve been craving dystopian novels. One of the recent books I picked up was The Maze Runner by James Dashner.

I had heard of Dashner before from his The 13th Reality series (I have yet to read it.) Apparently he visited my old Jr. High School a couple times since writing The 13th Reality and even since his publication of The Maze Runner. Having just bought a Kindle,...

Writing a Book (Part One): My Beginning

I’ve had a lot of people ask me how to write and publish a book. I always find it funny that people ask me this because I’m only self-published. I don’t have an agent or a huge publishing house backing me up–I’m still struggling to make it like them. Regardless, I’m always excited to share my experiences with them and help them along their writing and publishing journey. For this reason, I’ll be blogging about my experiences in writing and, of course, Space Dog. These will be a series of blog...

It’s so shiny! (New Design)

The site has needed a revamp for a looonnnggg time. I finally got around to doing it!

I’m hoping to focus more on books reviews and writing in the future. I’ve already read a few books in the last couple of weeks that I plan to be reviewing soon: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater, Double Life by Dawson Vosburg and The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I designed the site to spotlight the review side of my blog more than it did before. The recent reviews are now at the top and the upcoming review is the...

The Clockwork King demands that you read THE GREY GRIFFINS!

This review is LONG overdue.

A few years ago I had the opportunity to meet Derek Benz and Jon Lewis (sometimes known as J.S. Lewis) at a book signing they did at my old Jr. High School. It was 2006 and they were promoting their newly released book, The Revenge of the Shadow King, the first book in the Grey Griffins series. Following The Revenge of the Shadow King, the second book, The Rise of the Black Wolf and the third book, The Fall of the Templar, were released.

The Grey Griffins follows Ma...

Mockingjay Review (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

Ok, before getting to the actual review, I just gotta say that I was NOT pleased with Barnes and Noble. I’m a huge fan of B&N, but I was really disappointed when I ordered my copy of Mockingjay from them. Aside from it not arriving the day of its release, the way they packaged it damaged the dust jacket. I know that’s a small complaint, but I’m really careful when it comes to keeping my books in perfect condition. I’ll still shop there, but I don’t know if I’ll be ordering online from them ag...

I was just thinking…

… I’ve tried my hand at a few things.

Webmaster – I started making websites when I was in third grade. I guess that means when I was nine. Insane, huh? My first site was a Digimon fansite (lol) on MSN Communities (the late MSN Groups).
Comic book artist/creator – In sixth grade I was obsessed with drawing comic books. I did a series on my two pet dogs, Chris and Judy. It was called Dog Squad. Sometimes I still think of ideas for comics, but I haven’t actually put them on paper for years. Space...
