Chere readers,

Given that my customary attire is yoga pants, or all black, or all black yoga pants, or, in summer, running shorts and a jogging bra, how, HOW, did I end up in French ELLE?

The answer here:

Hint: it's something to do with LES CHASSEURS DE TORNADES!

Hey, everybody! Do you, like me, fall in love with novels and miss their characters when the back cover is closed? Do you want more THOSE WHO SAVE US...? If so, this story, "Max & Josephine," is for you. It's a "shrapnel story" I wrote AFTER the novel was finished, when the characters were still working out from beneath my skin, and it's about the Good Doktor Max Stern, the Jewish Resistance member who becomes my German heroine Anna's lover. I am much obliged to Boston University's 236 Magazine for publishing it and making it available to readers!

Here's the "Max & Josephine" link:

I hope you enjoy it! Please let me know.

Hi, everybody! I am so, so, so excited to announce the official publication date for my third novel, THE LOST FAMILY: June 5, 2018. Please mark your calendars or, if you're OCD like me, you can pre-order!

THE LOST FAMILY is about a German-Jewish concentration camp survivor, Peter Rashkin, as he tries to build a new life and family in the States--and how he, his American wife June and daughter Elsbeth are haunted by the family he lost during the war.

It's WWII fiction, refugee fiction, family fiction; it has love, sex, death, Nazis, art, photography, fashion, Jewish mafia, and FOOD. I hope you love love love it!

Hi, dear readers! I'm ecstatic to announce that Kirkus Reviews gave The Lost Family a starred review. This is my first Kirkus star! The novel was described as "an unsentimental, richly detailed study of the legacy of loss." (Not that I have memorized this or anything.) To read the full review, please click here:

I hope you love the novel when you read it!
