Dominoes by Phoebe McIntosh

The premise of Dominoes, the debut novel by Phoebe McIntosh, is fascinating. What if you discover that the man you’re about to marry may be descended from people who owned your ancestors as slaves?

It’s a fascinating question to consider because it poses all kinds of other important questions about the way past injustices continue to shape the present, about race and reparations, identity, and so m

“So really there's almost no point in planning anything out at all, because life is so infinitely complex that you can almost never just take a straight road from A to B without going via the whole rest of the alphabet first, and all because a butterfly happened to flap its wings in Thailand”

Richard Thanks for adding me, Andrew. I look forward to reading your updates and more of your reviews. I like making recommendations too, but you're so well read I hesitate to do it. However, if there is any author or topic you see among my shelves that you are curious about, I'd be more than happy to advise if I can.

As for the giveaway, well, c'est la vie! Maybe next time... :)
