was your "why did they come" comic at all inspired by art spiegels's maus? great comic by the way!
It’s hard to make out on Tumblr, but in the second panel the small handwritten text reads “Apologies to Art Spiegelman and Don Bluth”. In retrospect, now that the post has taken off on here, I wish I’d noted that in the text below, along with maybe my name or website or something. Ah well. I’m very glad to hear you liked the comic!

Hope you’ve been keeping up with the Process Party podcast. A pretty good episode of this week. Jeff Smith joins us for a chat. I told him how I met him years and years ago when I was working at Scholastic and there was a launch party for the newly colorized BONE series. Jeff was standing in a circle of comics bigwigs and I walked up. Paul Pope stepped aside so I was facing Frank Miller and Paul said something along the lines of “this is it, you’re in now” and I stood there with not much to say. And that’s how I became best friends with Frank Miller.
