Quentin R. Bufogle is a freelance writer, blogger and novelist. A former contributing writer to the former Las Vegas CityLife, his work appears in the anthology: "Wish You Were Here: Stories and Essays Inspired by Fabulous Las Vegas Postcards" -- published by the former Stephens Press. He is the author of "Horse Latitudes" (once described as "the best book you'll never read"), and the most frequently quoted unknown since anonymous. He lives in the city formerly known as Las Vegas, Nevada.

"Writing is the dragon that lives underneath my floorboards. The one I incessantly feed for fear it may turn and devour my ass. Writing is the friend who doesn't return my phone calls; the itch I'm unable to scratch; a dinner invitation from a cannibal; el

As I rise to escort her to the door, Heisei stops me by placing a gentle, yet resolute hand on my chest. There's that gleam in her eye. She removes the 'kanzashi': the traditional, decorative stick-like fasteners used to hold her hair in a Geisha bun. Shaking it loose, she allows her long, jet-black hair to fall in a cascade down her back. Undoing the sash on her silk kimono, she lets it slip t... Read more of this blog post »

Quentin shared a quote
Horse Latitudes by Quentin R. Bufogle
“MY ASS IS WORTH MORE THAN YOUR INCONVENIENCE ... that's my response to anyone opposed to universal background checks. If Ted Nugent has to wait three days because his wife wants a Howitzer for the backyard -- tough shit! If a background check keeps ONE gun out of the hands of ONE maniac thereby saving MY ass, it's worth it. May sound a bit selfish, but I'd hope you're equally fond of your own ass.”

Quentin shared a quote
Horse Latitudes by Quentin R. Bufogle
“Forget the National Debt Clock. We need an electronic billboard to track all the daily shootings in this country. I'm really sick of listening to all the mouth breathers who soil their camouflage pants every time someone suggests we might have a gun problem. Other countries have crazy, violent people. What they don't have is 300,000,000 WMDs and a gun show loophole that allows any psycho with a valid credit card to own 'em.”

“I want an avowed atheist in the White House. When time comes to push that button, I want whoever's making the decision to understand that once it's pushed, it's over. Finito. They're not gonna have lunch with Jesus. Won't be deflowering 72 virgins on the great shag carpet of eternity, or reincarnated as a cow. I want someone making that decision who believes life on this Earth isn't just a dress rehearsal for something better -- but the only shot we get.”

“Seemed like a good idea on paper.”
Tirumalai S. Srivatsan

“This is what you shall do; Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body.”
Walt Whitman
