Some Progress

The best laid plans as they say.


I had been saying I intended to get Finding Forever (Sutter’s Bay 4) done by the end of May, but I have to say that’s just not going to happen.

I’ve been working on it, but I put it aside to work on a couple of other things, Getting Wade , my anthology story, being one of them, and so that has, unfortunately, delayed my progress on Finding Forever .

I’m still working on another project but I am also back to working on Finding Forever and it is still my intention to have it done in June. If all goes as I wish, then I expect probably a September release for that one.

Yes, I know there is a rather big gap between my last release in March and any release later this year. I think at this point my anthology story is probably the first one to be released and that isn’t until August. But this year has been different as I’ve been expanding my publishing horizons.

All is going well, though, if not at the breakneck speed of past years.

Another Contract - Short Story for an Anthology

Recently I saw a call for short stories for an M/M anthology where the theme was friends to lovers and the publisher is called Evernight Publishing. I was only vaguely familiar with them through Facebook and an online writers site I am a member of, but they seem pretty cool from what I knew of them. Since the story could be anywhere between 5,000 and 10,000 words, I set out to craft a short little friends to lovers story and named it Getting Wade . I submitted my story and I am pleased to say I was offered a contract to be included in the anthology. Once I have more details, I will post them, but I am pleased to be able to announce that I've had two contract offers in the last week. Not bad! 

One More Time finds a home

Earlier this year I spent a great deal of time focusing on writing a novella that was a bit of a departure for me. I mentioned it vaguely a few times on the blog. Basically, I wrote a mm contemporary in first person. This story I named One More Time . I’ve never written in first person and I never thought I would. It’s not my favorite. For some reason though this story seemed to fit that point of view and by the time I finished it I was very happy. I think it’s some of the best writing I’ve done in a while.


Anyway, after finishing it, I carefully crafted a query letter and a synopsis, which I really hate, but I did it, and sent it off to publishers for a decision.

I’ve been stalking my email for a response and recently that stalking has paid off as Loose Id offered me a contract for, One More Time . It’s a great feeling to open your inbox and see such a thing of beauty!

Anyway, I have accepted the offer, obviously,  and the contract has been signed and is about to be mailed off by me, so once all the legal stuff gets done, I am sure I will be tackling edits with my editor. I believe at this point it is tentatively scheduled for some time in the fall but that is subject to change since I don't even have the signed by all parties contract in hand yet. This is my first story with them and I am pretty excited. Hopefully this is the start of some exciting things between me and Loose Id.

In other non-news I am still working on Finding Forever , (Sutter's Bay 4). Still crossing my fingers I can get it done by the end of May. It's been more of a struggle than I thought it would be, but I hope it pays off when it's finished.

Hopefully, in June I can begin working on Waking the Prince again so I can get that finished. It's deadline is September, but really I'd like to get it done before that because then I intend to start a new series for me, probably a trilogy featuring three different couples.

Kevin's is Getting Another Freebie

I'm working on a new freebie, very short story, for Kevin and Michael from Car Wash .It's almost done and when it is I'll be putting it up at ARe for downloading purposes. It's basically a little moment in their relationship so don't expect anything too intense! I just know there are still many Kevin fans out there, so I like to surprise them with a little present now and then.

Updates and a Mini-Contest

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth but I have been busy writing. I stalled for a bit but I'm working again and am still on target to finish before the end of May as I wanted.
