I wrote this book based on what I learned when I managed a team of high performing people. At first I thought I knew how to hire the best people.

Over time, the company grew, I was promoted and my team was transferred to new managers. I watched as my high-performing team started to fall. That was when I realized that it wasn't who I hired that made a difference, it was what I did with them after I hired them that mattered.
