Tedious. I suppose any book about the history of Siberia is going to spend a lot of time talking about incredible oppression and human suffering. Maybe that is why I couldn't get through it. It was well-written, but it didn't deliver what I was looki ...more

I laughed, I cried, I loved this book. For me, it could have had a wee bit less of the details of some of the mountain adventures, but that hardly took away from how much I loved hearing about Atticus.

I don't know why I didn't see this sooner, just found it tonight. Oh well, I probably couldn't do a heist either and certainly can't paint. I'll have to wait til my next life to write my novel. So, I guess we will both be reading as much as we can -and enjoying that a lot.

Dvora Treisman Patty, I don't think I am up to any of that! I wouldn't mind, but just don't have it in me to attempt a heist or paint anything. I do write, but not novels. I'll just keep on reading about these and dream!
