The Sentinels

Okay, here's the scoop. I've changed the name of Dark Souls MC to The Sentinels. It just makes sense, since I've mentioned The Sentinels in several of my MC books. The Sentinels, as you may remember, are neighborhood watch groups who patrol their towns at night helping to keep the peace by whatever means they have to. They actually work with law enforcement...most of the time.

I haven't decided if I'm going to give each man (there are 12) his own story but The Sentinels starts out with Tanner's story. He's the club president. The location of the story takes place in Daytona Beach, Florida, the beginning of bike week.

Thank You for Holding by Julia Kent and Elisa Reed

Out Now—Thank You For Holding by Julia Kent & Elisa Reed

Thank You For Holding (Book 2 in the On Hold Series)
Author: Julia Kent & Elisa Reed
Release date: March 21, 2017
Genre: Romantic Comedy, Contemporary Romance

Description:

Having it all is a fantasy, right?

Carrie Shelton thought her boyfriend was too good to be true. Her best friend's brother? A guy who loved antiquing? Who cuddled on the couch while watching foodie YouTube clips and talking about artisanal spices? Who helped her accessorize her outfits?

Right.

Fantasy.

So when he ran off with Kevin, the owner of an antique shop, right before his sister’s wedding, Carrie’s life went from fantasy to nightmare.

As maid of honor, she can’t back out of the wedding. And her ex is the best man - but now he has his own best man.

She needs a date. Stat.

Enter Ryan. Sure, he’s a hot male stripper at the O Spa where she works as junior designer, but he’s a few years younger and just, you know -- a friend.

Perfect. She needs a friend more than she needs a boyfriend.

A weekend of playing her boyfriend so she can save face is a lot to ask, but for some reason Carrie doesn't understand, Ryan's all in. Enthusiastic, even.

Especially when it comes to physical displays of affection.

Public kisses turn to private confessions, and pretty soon, Carrie can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality.

Because if Ryan's just pretending he's in love with her, then why does the chemistry between them -- and between the sheets -- feel so real?

Carrie can't settle for almost, though. She's already done that. She's not putting her life on hold anymore.

Turns out Ryan won't, either.

He's holding out for more.

Thank You For Holding is a STANDALONE in the On Hold series. You do not need to have read book 1 in the series, Our Options Have Changed, but after reading about Carrie and Ryan’s friends-to-lovers adventure, you’ll want to. ;)

Excerpt:

CARRIE

I'm going to be the maid of honor in my friend Jenny's wedding. You probably saw that coming. I met Jenny at work here at the O Spa, the women’s private club chain where I am the Assistant Director for Design. O Spas are the “fourth space” for women. Home, work, and other public venues are the first three.

We are meant to be the ultimate space. From highly-trained, well-oiled, hot massage therapists who wear g-strings that are outlawed in 111 countries, to a sex toy boutique with weekly workshops, to a new coffee shop with lattes that are better than sex, the O Spa caters to what women want.

A break, a chance, and a friend.

Jenny loved working for O, but she moved on a year ago, a promotion she could only get by changing companies. We were never just work friends. We're true best friends, and besides that, we could be sisters-in-law someday. I'm dating her brother, Jamey.

Who is standing in front of my desk right now, telling me about the tickets he just scored to Straight No Chaser at the Wang Center in November. We love a cappella.

"Fifth row, Carrie! And it'll be near the holidays, so maybe they'll do songs from their Christmas album!" His dark, wavy hair falls over his forehead in a boyish little curl. His eyebrows are perfectly arched. He gets them threaded more often than I do. His narrow chinos are rolled at the cuff, exposing his bare ankles in brown loafers. And is that my cotton scarf knotted around his neck?

I smile at him. Jamey is a great boyfriend because he always wants to do fun and unusual things. Has ever since we began dating two years ago. Our friends rely on Jamey to keep them current. When Steve Martin curated the Lawren Harris show at the MFA, we were the first people in the door. When Juliet opened in Union Square, we were tasting the tasting menu before anyone else had tasted it.

You can see why a lavender flowered cotton dress -- with puffed sleeves -- is of no use to me.

“We can go back to my place after the concert and I’ll make cocoa. Bet you’d enjoy something sweet and hot,” I say with a flirtatious grin. I give him what I hope is a smoldering look. He’s holding my hand and his eyes widen in mock excitement, then he looks away.

I love Jamey.

While a firm believer in the strong alpha-male hero in any story, she wondered what would happen if that hero met a woman who was able to take care of herself physically. Using her several years of Tae Kwon Do training and mixing in time travel, her multi-award winning debut novel, The Draig’s Woman was born.Lisa lives in the Chicago suburbs and is married to her high school sweetheart. Friday Freebie

Get it here!

The Alaskan wilderness is the backdrop for this story about two strangers who find themselves stranded in a cabin for the winter. Both are tortured souls struggling to go on in life, only to discover survival can be found in each other's arms.

Excerpt - Luke stood quietly, staring down at his bed.

He didn’t believe in fairy tales, yet there she was, Sleeping Beauty all rolled up in his blankets, and snoring softly. Charlie was on her side, all but her head hidden beneath the quilt, her nose turned up toward the opening. His mouth curved into a smile.

He was crazy crawling beneath the covers with her. He’d probably survive the night better sleeping out in a snowdrift in the buff. His attraction for her bordered on the edge of what he should do and what he wanted to do. For the hundredth time that evening, he berated himself for not stopping to think where she’d have to sleep when he’d invited Swanson to stay.

Luke knew either way he was going to pay the price. He didn’t want to feel anything for Charlie, but she’d managed to get under his skin without even half-trying. They were two tormented souls reaching out to one another, and Charlie was providing an easy way out of the dark void he’d built around himself. And she reminded him that he was a man of flesh-and-blood and wants.

He’d waited as long as he could before excusing himself and coming to bed, and not because he’d wanted to give Charlie enough time to fall asleep. Luke knew it was going to be a long night, realized, too, that he couldn’t put off the inevitable.

A heavy sigh escaped him as he reached for the edge of the covers and pulled them back. Charlie stirred slightly and moaned when the cold touched her warm body, reaching out blindly for the quilt in Luke’s hand. He quickly slid in next to her and brought the covers with him, clenching his teeth in agony when Charlie burrowed against him like a lazy cat seeking the warmth of his body.

Alarm bells went off when she tucked her fanny into the hollow of his body. He groaned low and counted to ten, then to twenty before deciding he could count to a million and it wouldn’t make any difference. He cursed his stupidity for even thinking he could lie next to Charlie and remain in control. It didn’t take long before his body began to respond to her.

An eternity slipped by as he lay there barely taking in air, listening to her soft breathing. His nose was in her hair and nothing could stop him from inhaling deeply. Her delicate fragrance sent his senses into overdrive. Everything about her captivated him and made him want her. Why wasn’t she snoring loudly? Why didn’t she look like an old hag when she was sleeping?

He closed his eyes and relaxed as much as he could with a tempting woman snuggled against him. His cock was as hard as a steel rod, but Charlie’s steady breathing convinced Luke she was sleeping soundly and unaware of his state. However, in the next instant he cursed the devil. She was sleeping, but her body seemed very much aware of his presence pressing against him in all the right places. A silent invitation that encouraged his excitement to grow to unbearable degrees.

Before he thought about the wisdom of what he was doing he thrust against her. She thrust back. He groaned low and clenched his teeth. Luke realized he was growing weak. A man could only take so much. And he was a hungry man. A soft whimper escaped her; his body shuddered at the sound of her hunger. Hell, he was painfully conscious of the fact that all he had to do to slip inside the warmth of her body was to push her robe aside. The way Charlie was thrusting her buttocks against his hard-on was proof enough she was just as turned on as he was, even if she was unconscious.

- LeTeisha Newton, Goodreads ReviewerWith a mix of old world and new this book does NOT disappoint! I highly recommend it!!
- Sylvia Schneider, Goodreads ReviewerPurchase LinksAmazon US | Amazon UK | iBooks | Kobo | Barnes and NobleExcerpt From the BookHer face haunted me. The adorable dimple pitted in her cheek caught my eye first. Sexy full lips that folded into a gorgeous smile just about took my breath away. I did my best not to continuously stare at her, managing to throw just a few glances here and there hoping she got the message. But she didn't take the bait. Instead, she gave me a 'too good for you' glance while she plowed down a server on her way to the bathroom, probably to restock the toilet paper in her bra.The Texas Tease, I called it. Lots of girls at UT had it—this one in particular—in spades. Shorter than my normal tastes, her alluring doe-eyes caught me off guard. The memory of her petite frame sashaying as she worked those sexy, black pumps played on a loop in my head. Along with the way her long, brown hair bounced with every step like a damn shampoo commercial.She drove me insane, and I didn't even know her name. At least Mick confirmed she was a student at UT, apparently in one of his Economics classes.She intrigued me, sitting in a sports bar drinking beer while her prissy friend sipped wine. I even caught her glancing at the Longhorn game on the big screen. A cute girl who likes beer and football? Every guy's dream. If only she weren't a snob. But, I'd put her in her place. And I had the perfect plan.The ring of my Skype alert disrupted my plotting. Incoming message from Kanti, my best friend.Kanti: Hey …Me: What's up, brat?Kanti: You busy?Me: Never too busy for you.Kanti: Stop with the sugar, you're giving me diabetes.Me: LOL Better get used to it.Kanti: Ugh. Don't remind me. Quick, what do you want for your birthday? You got the new Mortal Kombat release already?Me: Yeah, of course I do. But you don't have to get me anything. You know that.Kanti: I can't NOT get you anything.Me: Tell me you talked to your parents and the wedding's called off. That would be an awesome present.Kanti: Seriously? You know that isn't even in the realm of possibilities. So shut it.Me: I can dream, can't I?Kanti: Yeah, and I know what you do in those dreams. Not even going there.Me: You're such a bitch. Why do I love you?Kanti: Because we're best friends.Me: Well, there's that.Mick yelled through the door. “Jai, you comin' down or what?”“In a minute,” I replied.Me: I gotta go. Kegger tonight and we're hosting.Kanti: Email me and let me know what to get you.Me: Fine.Kanti: LOL Kiss KissMe: Whatever. LOL TTYLI closed the lid on my laptop as Mick flung the door open.“People are starting to arrive. You're on keg duty first.”I tossed him a nod. “Yeah, I know. I'm coming. Just finishing up some notes on my Sociology project.”“I thought you dropped that class?” He folded his arms, leaning against the door-frame.“I was going to until Professor Wilkinson agreed to let me take it online, since it's the same time as my cinematography course.” I pulled out a notepad. “What'd you say that chick's name was again? The one we saw at the bar today.”“Catherine Marek. But I think she goes by Cat.” Mick shrugged. “Why? I thought you said she was a snob, and you weren't gonna pursue her?”“Oh, I'm not. I got my sights set on another girl I've been talking to for a little while. But I think that Cat chick will make for a perfect target on my sociology paper.” I wrote down her name and underlined it five times. “I'm calling it, Friend Zoned.”Mick laughed. “Oh, this ought to be good. What're you gonna do?”“It's what I'm not gonna do that's going be the best part. I'm going to act like I'm interested, then when she takes the bait, I'll friend zone her. I'm going to prove that a guy can be sexually attracted to a girl who's interested in him and still remain only friends. I'll be the best 'friend' she's ever gonna have.”GiveawayWINGiveaway GraphicPrizes up for grabs:

Nowhere to Hide by Louise Lyndon

 GENRE: Contemporary Erotic Romantic Suspense
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 BLURB:
Forty years ago the Australian rural town of Burrawang Bend was the scene of a brutal murder, and the townspeople are still calling for justice. Marlee Moore, the suspect’s and victim’s granddaughter, is fighting to clear her grandfather’s name. And no one is going to stand in her way. But when things take a dangerous and deadly turn, Marlee must turn to the one man she was determined to run out of town.
Devon Reilly, investigative journalist for his hit TV show, Justice Served, is in Burrawang Bend to solve the forty-year-old cold case murder. But, he didn't bargain on Marlee keeping him from investigating the case and he soon questions where her loyalties lie. With the living? Or with the dead? But when Marlee and her son’s life are put in danger, Devon knows he is the only man who can keep them alive. But what happens when he soon realizes he is the bigger threat to the woman and kid he loves?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt
He took his time drinking from his bottle of water. He rubbed the back of his hand across his lips and exhaled. “Well, if her death was deemed an accident, then he stood to gain financially. A hundred thousand dollars in the early seventies was a considerable amount of money. And that is called motive.”
“It’s still considered a considerable amount of money. At least by me it is.” When she couldn’t loosen the lid of her water, he reached for it. Her gaze lingered on his. “When you were doing your piece to camera, I heard you say Pops had told people Marion had terminal cancer. Surely this would lead people to infer she might have committed suicide. If that was the case, then the insurance wouldn’t have paid out. There goes your motive, Reilly.”    He slid the opened bottle of water toward her.

“If Marion had cancer, then surely Pops is innocent.”
“It would certainly have the investigation looking in another direction. But, Marlee, there are no doctors or nurses or other health care professionals to support Saul’s claim Marion had terminal cancer. None of Marion’s friends confirmed she had cancer either. Surely, that would have been something she would have confided to her family and friends. It doesn’t make sense she would want to keep that toherself. Especially since she had a kid. She’d want to make preparations for her daughter.” He looked pointedly at her. “Your mother. And then there is the issue of the selective autopsy. If a complete autopsy had been performed, then we would have definitive proof of whether or not she had cancer.”
“Why wouldn’t the coroner examine all of Marion’s organs?”
“That’s the sixty-four-thousand-dollar question. Within a day of the autopsy report being provided, Marion was cremated. An inquest was held, but the coroner could not make a decision as to whether or not Marion was murdered, if she committed suicide or if her death was an accident. Saul and other witnesses refused to give evidence. Hence, the open findings ruling. I’d like to question the coroner but I believe he died a couple of years after Marion.”

Friday Freebie!

Get it here!

Logan Knight is recuperating from a fire that killed his two best friends. Libby Turner is on a mission to keep her beloved grandmother out of an assisted living facility. From the moment the two meet, sparks fly and they can't keep their hands off each other. Can they stick to their plan of keeping their relationship strictly sexual or do they give in to the love that claims their hearts?

Excerpt - Logan was thinking about how close he’d come to making that decision when a small sound penetrated his silent musings. He was resting against the edge of the pool, water lapping around his neck. He turned his head enough to see someone doing the very thing he’d done a few minutes earlier, only with a little more grace. Damn, all he’d wanted was a nice quiet swim alone. Maybe with a little luck they’d never notice he was there in the shadows. He remained quiet.

It was too dark to see who it was but once they stepped into the moonlight and dropped their towel Logan got a clear view of a slim form and jutting breasts. As the woman continued to the deep end he sucked in his breath, his heart literally ceased beating. Without hesitation she reached behind her to undo her bikini top, letting it float to the pool deck before shimmying out of her bottoms with enough hip action to make a belly dancer jealous. She stepped up onto the diving board, and for a moment she was suspended in a slim ray of moonlight.

He released a low whistle between his teeth, realizing at that moment the seductive nymph he was ogling was none other than Margaret’s granddaughter, Libby. He tried to swallow, almost choking on his tongue. Her form was willowy slim yet had all the right curves to tempt a man into losing his mind. Her long hair hid her breasts from his view, stopping just short of her belly button. The lower half of her body was hidden in the shadows. The fact he couldn’t see her clearly didn’t stop his cock from swelling.

His body didn’t have any trouble recalling what her luscious bottom felt like against it. What her breasts had felt like smashed against his chest. His mouth ached to taste hers. Then suddenly she raised her arms and flipped that fiery mane behind her shoulders before diving gracefully into the cool water. It was the sound of her hitting the water that broke the spell Logan was in, and for the first time in what seemed a lifetime he sucked in air.

Damn! His hand moved down his body to adjust his boxer style swimsuit, but the wet material wouldn’t cooperate. It clung to his tingling shaft like a glove. He couldn’t remember getting a full-blown hard-on so fast. His gaze remained fixed on the water in front of him, wondering where Libby would appear. She surfaced about halfway in the middle, running her hands over her face to brush the hair out of her eyes. Logan was mildly surprised she hadn’t spotted him yet. Maybe she had a lot on her mind. He watched her wade to the other side of the pool, where a large tree grew close to the deck. For a moment she disappeared in the dark shadows it cast upon the water. His eyes narrowed, adjusting against the darkness until he could make her out again. He watched as she hoisted herself out of the water and headed back to the diving board.
