Scoping is addictive!
Recently I found out about Periscope and I am so addicted! I could watch it all day long, and I love scoping! It is live-streaming video and is an app for your iPhone or Android, and I believe it is a POWERFUL tool to share about your faith in God, your life, and/or your business, especially for speakers, authors, and other entrepreneurs. I’ve only recorded a few “scopes” as people call them, but I’m diving in head first and running... Read more »

Do you scope? Periscope for Speakers and Authors
Recently I heard from my business/writing coach Shelley Hitz and other friends online about Periscope. At first I sheepishly admit that I groaned a little and thought,“Not another social media site!” Sometimes it’s hard enough keeping upwith the ones I’m on now! But as I watched Shelley Hitz’s scopes on how it can connect you more with your ideal market and even sell more of your books, I reconsidered it. I did findthe technology fascinating. And since I’m a heart... Read more »

A gift from God
Yesterday our youngest daughter Leah and I spontaneously went to eat at the Mexican restaurant in town, one of my fave places, and when we were almost finished, I spotted my old friend Denise and her husband Clayton at the door. They were looking for a meeting room in town for their MLM business. She ran up to me and hugged me, loudly laughing in exclamation to see me. As we talked, they shared about their business and then we... Read more »

The hardest job
Yesterday on my Facebook personal wall, I posted: “I think I’m going to write a blog post on being a mom. In my opinion, it is the most important job in the world. If you aren’t a biological mom, you can still mentor others. It is the hardest job in the world. Sometimes you wonder if you’ve been a good mom. Know that God’s grace covers any blunders you have made and He’s got them in His loving, powerful hands.”... Read more »

A broken winged bird
I’ve been a busy bee this week. A goal I’ve had for several years for my online business is to convert all the books I’ve written to Kindle eBooks and upload them to Amazon. Forbes estimates that there’s more than 30 million Kindle ereaders currently in use, so if you’re an author, I strongly encourage you to pray and think about getting your book(s) on Amazon! I’ve been working with a graphic designer and a formatter this week to design... Read more »

The Bonsai Tree
Today Ray and I visited the Bonsai Grill restaurant in Harrisonville, MO, where they serve hibachi food. In this blog post, I share about the traditional Japanese art of bonsai trees, taking pics for my blog, Ray's friend Daron Norwood who died tragically, and the care God has for us His people.

Giving gifts: your spiritual gifts, talents and skills
My husband Ray occasionally brings home spontaneous gifts for me that he thinks I’ll enjoy: fresh flowers, jewelry, a pretty scarf, or chocolate. He often chooses something unique because he knows I love things that stand out. Today he bought me a red-wine wrap, silver ruby necklace with matching earrings, and a Hershey chocolate bar. The red-wine wrap he bought me: The silver ruby costume jewlery – a necklace with matching earrings: And of course, you can NEVER go wrong... Read more »

The land of mastering
This week I’ve been attending Chandler Bolt’s online Self Publishing Success Summit, with 37 speakers on the topics of writing, marketing, and publishing your book. It has been excellent training, and I’m learning so much. I have only been able to catch a few of the replays, but the ones I’ve watched are so inspiring. Some takeaways I’ve had with self-publishing your book/eBook on Kindle for Amazon (some of these I already knew): Know your audience and what they really... Read more »
